Ado du Toit
Hi! I am Ado du Toit. I am a "very amateur photographer”. I am constantly learning about how to capture and edit precious images by being part of groups like this ..My Moto…look, read up and learn. I do not have any fancy equipment.. But...what I do have by the heaps, is a passion for life, light and the story that images in the world give us in even the most ordinary of scenes like farm life, illness, mountains and people.I am acutely aware of how short and precious life is, and feel a thrill, a humble awe in the capturing of a split second in the story called life.

Alan Mason
Alex Cummings
As an advanced hobbyist, Alan Mason's photographic career started in January 2006 when he bought his first digital prosumer camera and started to learn how to play. Next stop was to do a camera course with the College of Digital Photography, after which he joined the Johannesburg Photographic Society Camera Club and thereafter Camera Club of Johannesburg.
His photography took an exponential upward turn, when in 2013, on the Google+ social media platform, he completed 'a-photo-a-day for 365 days' and subsequent to this he participated in numerous G+ mentorships both as a pupil and as a mentor.
Alan has a particular interest in Blur and Unsharp photography but, generally speaking he is an all-rounder who likes chasing the light in order to achieve great images.
Blairgowrie, Randburg [email protected]
Photographer/ExhibitorAlex started his career in Scotland as a teenager. He also trained in Design and Fine Art. He started off with a small B&W darkroom but in 1979 he built what was to become an almost professional colour darkroom.Doing well in club and salon scenes until illness forced him to cease, he prophesied the coming of the digital age and was laughed at for saying that it would take over from film. For several years he was out of the photographic scene but now specialises in composite work and the occasional straight image.

Al Smuts
I am Al of Triton Photography. My interest is underwater glamour photography. I started about 30 years ago with photography as a hobby and really liked the human form in water and underwater. Back then images and ideas were hard to find, so I have always made my own props/costumes and scenes for my photography - from mermaids to pirates. My inspiration is Howard Schatz, where he photographed ballet dancers underwater.

Alet Visagie
I'm a nature lover and spend all of my free time in nature. Then eight years ago I joined a photography club and since then I'm hooked on my new passion. Nature photography is my preferred genre, from wildlife to macro. For the last 2 years I've been inspired by Hein and all our photography friends who post their photos on the VSS Facebook page. Since then I have been trying/struggling to also do the creative thing and will hopefully succeed one of these years.

Alireza Naseri
Alireza lives in Lives in Tehran, Iran, and studied photography at a local collage. His work is closely related to most of the Photo-Journalism genres with great emphasis on travel and street photography. Alireza’s work introduce many interesting parts of the world to us, especially painting a picturesque view of Iran that is seldom seen by the rest of the world.

Ankie Coetzer
Hobby photographer, Alison enjoys the challenge and satisfaction of doing composites and seeing the world through a lens. She considered herself a bit of a workshop junkie until she found that she was comparing her work to others and decided that comparing is not good for her morale. She realised that she can appreciate and enjoy other photographers work and feel zero competition and knowing what goes into the works of art makes her appreciate their work all the more. The fun she's had learning, plus all the learning still to come makes her photography journey completely worth it.
On a family tour through Europe, amateur photographer Ankie Coetzer realised that she has ‘an eye’ for composition. This fuelled a passion for photography that just keeps growing.Born with a deep love for animals of all kinds, wildlife photography is her first love, followed closely by capturing all sorts of scenes when travelling. She continually strives for more knowledge and mastering interesting manipulation techniques, through reading tutorials and trying to recreate effects that she notices in other photographers' works. Currently she is experimenting with creating more abstract and minimalist works.

Andrew Harvard
Annaline Werth
Andrew's photography, hobby not career currently Canon, at first light: birds flying, fish jumping, ocean lapping has an amazingly calming effect, heals the soul and warms the heart.Mostly self-taught since 2012, he loves Robin Sharma's wisdom, Jimmy Macintyre's mentorship and spending hours processing. This, like shooting, is calming and a meditation.Andrew finds God in glorious sunrises, splendid sunsets and the Milky Way, and his own drive with inspiration from other photographers are vitally important.Special highlights: featured PSSA Image magazine Feb 2016 – first time anyone enjoyed double spread, supplied bulk Divine Life Society of SA 2019 calendar images.
I realized my passion for arts when I joined the F-stop Photo club in 2015. I had an amazing tutor that encouraged me and gave me advice when I needed it. (Hennie Karsten) it was during this time that i started experimenting with different styles. I always try to learn as much as possible from the amazing professional photographers around me. As a photographer I try to be as versatile as possible. but I favour portraiture, landscapes, and monochrome. I only recently started with landscapes, and I love it so much, the only obstacle is to find the right place at the right time.

The enjoyment of going out to photograph and to be able to share that with my friends and fellow photgraphers is my favorite part of this hobby. I love sharing ideas with other photographers and friends that love photography just as much as I do. I believe in the value of learning from each other. I enjoy trying new things, and as im not a person for a lot of words, doing my thing is awesomeness.

Anton la Grange
Anton la Grange is a photographer and photo educator based in the northern suburbs of Pretoria, specializing in nature, travel, photojournalism and street photograph. Throughout his work, one can see that he combines his love of the natural world with his fascination of the world's diverse cultures. Each of his photographs tells a story of life on this planet. I believe the most important quality of a photograph, as in all of art, is to evoke an emotional response. While everything in nature does this for me, selecting just the right places and moments to take a photograph that conveys those emotions is far more difficult. Anton became a photographer back in 2009 and hold the following awards: APSSA Digital Colour (Jan 2011), APSSA Monochrome Open (Jan 2014), APSSA Monochrome Photojournalism – Photo Travel – A day in the Ovahimba Kraal (Jan 2016), APSSA (Vers) (Jan 2016) and AFIAP (2013).

Arlene Colby Mullins
Arlene started her journey into creativity through crafting before she plunged into the world of digital photography. This medium has enabled her to express her unique view of the world.
Arlene favours still life, nature and portrait photography, exploring the possibilities of digital editing to achieve her signature style. Soft focus, flowing lines and pastel colours are common themes in her work through which she strives to tell stories. She believes that the simplest of stories – that of a single rose or a dusty football game – often have the most impact.

Basil Gordon
I worked for BMG music then SONY-BMG and finally SONY MUSIC International for 16 years ending in 2010. In that time I was always handed the camera at music events to take pictures of superstars, and really had no idea of what I was doing but the photography bug bit me. When I left the industry I studied photography and did some freelance work for about a year. I got a full time position at a hotography studio and school doing all the all the in house shoots and events, I also did Photoshop editing and teaching; photography, cinematography and graphic design. In 2016 I worked as an in-house photographer for a chines company. I am now a self employed photographer.
I am deeply committed in finding the absolute magic in all subjects be they ugly or beautiful. Lighting is a true art form appreciated over thousands of hours behind the lens.I would like to thank Melisa-Jane, Shane and family helping me keep my photography dream alive.
Annie Kruyer
In her distinctive visual language that is sometimes 'almost nothing' light, sometimes 'deep' dark, Annie is a fine artist that has found, framing imagery in natural light, a way to explore dualities and the balance of opposites, the sensory tension of living in the fragile present moment, while accepting the transience of our natural world,
inviting you into defining moments of spiritual longing and quiet contemplation. Besides using the camera as a tool for self expression, she creates fine art images that sell internationally from her online gallery, and accepts commissions to photograph life as art, specializing in woman.

As a hobby artist this was a new and creative way to show what i see - through my Lens, to discover abstract expressions of the beauty in the natural world.

Bernyce Hollingworth
My interest in photography started in 1978 when I worked as a darkroom technician for the then dept. Of information in Pretoria. I loved playing around in the darkroom manipulating the images a little (which got me into trouble more often than not).Have no idea why they didn't like images of then ministers manipulated and printed to hang in our offices.???When i left the department I worked for a few photographers as their assistant but lost interest somewhere along the line when my camera and slides were all stolen.
I now am a passionate amateur photographer that loves photographing the little things living around us, i.e. Macro photography. I also love playing around inside Photoshop and manipulating and compositing images I have taken to a bit of fine art or abstract images. What I love most about photography is that it allows me to view and see the small things around me and appreciate the world we live in.
