On 2nd Oct. SBES participated in Prime Minister’s “Swach Bharat aBhiyan” through an
event organised by the Rotract club of SBES. Students presented skits on “need of maintaining
cleanliness and ways to keep our neighbourhood clean” to the nearby villagers.
Students took oath to maintain cleanliness on 2nd Oct. “Gandhi Jayanti” On the occasion various
competitions like elocution competition, slogan competition easy competition were organized in
which students participated with enthusiasm.
Corporate interface committee of SBES organised a National Seminar on the topic “India Inc.,
challenges and opportunities” In the seminar corporate managers like Ms. Neha, Area Manager
HSBC, Mr. Nittin Pitty RM, Business Development KPIT, Mr. Nikhil Wadgaonkar A/C executive
IBM Brokers were invited to deliver a talk. Under the seminar a panel discussion was also organ-
ised in the panel alluminai students Anshul Kadam, Anshuman Tripathi, Monika Nigaam dis-
cussed their viewpoint about opportunities and challanges faced by India inc today.
SBES provides a cordial atmosphere for the development of students as well as faculty, with a
view to contribute to the research revolution SBES organised a 1 day SPSS workshop on 14.Oct.
2014 for faculty members where research scholars learned working knowledge of SPSS.
Diwali was celeberated in a full swing in SBES campus the celeberation was organised in the
SBES campus on 17.Oct 2014, wherein many competitions like Rangoli competition, Mehandi
competition were organised for the staff members. On the occasion breakfast and community
lunch was served to the staff. The day ended with distribution of Diwali sweets and gifts to all staff
members by the founder President of SBES Prof. Manish R. Mundada.
Mid- term exams of PGDM and MBA took place in month of Oct. 2014
SBES celeberated its 8th foundation day on 26th Oct 2014. On that day Cricket match was played
between staff members of the entire three institute. On the occasion community lunch was ar-
ranged and house was organised for the staff members.

Snapdeal.With the investment, the Snapdeal will become the largest shareholder in the online marketplace
major. Through this strategic investment and partnership with Snapdeal, the SoftBank Group aims to fur-
ther strengthen its presence in India and leverage synergies with its network of Internet companies around
the world.
SoftBank of Japan to invest 10 billion dollars in India Telecom giant SoftBank of Japan on 27 October 2014 pledged to make an investment of 10 billion US dol-
lars (over 60000 crore rupees) in India's IT and communications sector in coming years. With this invest-
ment, SoftBank looks forward for opportunities in telecom space and the fast-growing e-commerce sector
in India.
NRI investors sue ICICI Venture over losses A group of 69 non-resident Indian investors on 28 October 2014 had sued ICICI Venture at the Supreme
Court in Mauritius.The investors seek to obtain 103 million US dollar in damages over alleged losses on
their investments in a property fund run by the private equity firm. The group also sued ICICI Bank, the
Dynamic India III fund trustee Western India Trustee and Executor Co, and the administrator of the fund,
International Financial Services.

crore rupees tax case Bombay High Court on 10 October 2014 ruled in favour of Vodafone in 3200 crore rupees tax dispute
case. The ruling was given by the division bench of the Bombay High Court, headed by Chief Justice
Mohit Shah.
Karnataka government prohibited strike at Bosch plant in
Bangalore Karnataka government on 10 October 2014 prohibited the ongoing strike at the auto component maker
Bosch’s plant in Bangalore. The workers are on strike since 16 September 2014 in support of their de-
mands pertaining to wages, benefits and regularisation of temporary workers.
Google social network site–Orkut closed Google closed the social networking site Orkut permanently on 30 September 2014. Google announced the
decision to shut down Orkut in June 2014.Old users of Orkut will be able to take backup of their pictures
and posts till September 2016 and users can export their profile data, community posts and photos using
Google Takeout. But no one will be able to create new IDs on Orkut account.

US dollar Auto Portal Cardekho on 29 September 2014 acquired Gaadi.com. Cardekho is expected to have paid 11
million US dollar for Gaadi.com. However, both the companies will continue to run independently and op-
erate as separate businesses in order to drive focus, especially in the pre-owned car business.
Muthuraman Vice Chairman of Tata Steel retired B Muthuraman, Vice-Chairman of Tata Steel retired from the Board of the company on 26 September
2014 after attaining the age of 70. He retired as per the company’s retirement policy.B Muthuraman who
was also a chairman of Tata International Ltd, the global trading and distribution arm of the Tata group
was replaced by former Union Home Secretary GK Pillai. Pillai was appointed for the post on 26 Septem-
ber 2014.
SBI signed 500 million dollar Line of Credit with Korea Ex-
imbank State Bank of India (SBI), the country’s largest lender on 26 September 2014 announced that it has signed
a Line of Credit (LoC) of 500 million dollar with Export-Import Bank of Korea (Korea Eximbank).The
LoC will be utilised to provide finance to SBI’s clients in India and neighbouring countries that have busi-
ness relationships either by way of equity participation or regular trade with Korean companies globally, as
well as joint ventures or subsidiaries of Korean companies.
