Dear Readers,

A warm welcome to the Volume III Issue I of Vrutant -CMPICA Quarterly e-Newsletter. It covers the brief aboutactivities carried out during the period of December - 2015 toMarch - 2016 at CMPICA. As always, we are equally open tocomments, criticism and suggestions.

14th Annual Day wasorganized on 22nd January,2016.

Dr. Atul Patel, Dean &Principal presented theAnnual Report of variouscurricular & co-curricularactivities held during thepast academic year. Rankersfrom each semester for allprogrammes were awardedby cash prize withcertificate.

Book Exhibition

A two days book exhibition onthe topic of computer scienceand information technologyheld on 4th – 5th February, 2016.

Total 143 visitors from differentdepartments had visited thebook exhibition. Total 718books were displayed in theexhibition and 300 books werepurchased.

An event “IGNITE – 2016 Enlighten the hidden excellence” was organizedduring 22nd – 23rd January, 2016.

In this National Level Computer Technocrats’ Symposium, various technicaland cultural events were organized.

More than 750 participants from 50 different under graduate and postgraduate colleges of Gujarat were participated in this event.


An event “Agnitio - 2016Time To Show Your Talent”was organized on 25th

January, 2016.

Various Events like IT Quiz,Poster Presentation, WebPage Designing, CounterStrike, Newton Circus andLogo Designing wereorganized.

More than 600 participants from 21 different schools of Commerce andScience stream were participated in this event.


National Conference on SoftComputing and its Applications(NCSCA-2016) was organized during5th – 6th February, 2016 with aim toprovide a platform to theresearchers, academicians,students, and professionals in thearea of Information andCommunication Technology (ICT) toshare their research, knowledge,new ideas and innovations. Theconference was comprised withinvited talks by experts fromAcademia/Governmentorganizations/Industry/TechnologyLeaders and Technical Sessions.

Total 62 delegates had registeredfor the conference and 38 paperswere finally selected and presentedby the delegates in the four sessionsduring two days.

Parents’ Meeting

A Parents’ Meeting was organized on 27th February, 2016 for MCA DualDegree (BCA + MCA), MCA , MCA Lateral and M.Sc. (IT) students.

Parents were made aware about institute, placement activities carried out,result analysis, industrial visit organized, remedial measures taken andworkshop/expert lectures organized for students.

This session was followed by one-to-one interaction of students andparents with respective class counselors.

workshop on Academic Aptitude for MCA Lateral - III, MCA - V,

M.Sc.(IT) – III students during 24th - 26th February, 2016.


SAMARPAN

CMPICA had organized “Kites Distribution” on 12th January, 2016 for socialcause under the SAMARPAN initiative of the institute


Kites, Firki/Pilla, Food (chiki,tal-sankali, bor) and Othermaterials (dora, gundarpatti,cap) were distributed amongchildren of surroundingareas.

CMPICA had organized “Exhibition-cum-sale of Student Crafted Materials”for social cause during 22nd - 23rd January, 2016 in the institute premises.

More than 15 students ofCMPICA had crafted usefulitems from waste.

They have also crafted artisticand jewelry items. Exhibition-cum-sale was organized forthese items. Profits fromselling of these items aredonated to SAMARPAN forsocial cause.

LIMITATIONS

Repairing is difficult if any of the devices got damaged, Those who lost

their visions due to other reasons could not use this device, Surgery is

required to implant the electrode array, The approximated cost of the

device is $70,000.
