“Beat Your A-Fib: The Essential Guide to Finding Your Cure” by Steve Ryan

This  is  a  book  written  by  Steve  S.  Ryan  PhD.  Steve  is  a  former  a-‐fib  patient,  health  educator  and  advocate  for  patients  suffering  from  A-‐Fib.  He  started  Atrial  Fibrillation  for  Patients  www.A-‐Fib.com.  This  book  assists  patients  and  families  to  both  understand  a-‐fib  and  to  explore  the  various  treatment  options  available.  He  provides  a  step  by  step  approach  to  selecting  the  best  doctor  for  you  and  identifying  the  best  treatment  options  that  you  might  consider  pursuing.  Part  I  is  an  overview  of  a-‐fib  and  its  causes.  Part  II  is  all  about  treatments  and  procedures  used  to  control  or  eliminate  Atrial  Fibrillation.  Part  III  explores  scenarios  and  options  for  treatment.  Numerous  patient  stories  are  shared  along  with  an  exploration  of  every  available  treatment  option.  This  section  concludes  with  a  top  ten  lists  of  lessons  learned.  Part  IV  contains  appendices  with  a  glossary  of  terms,  resource  rich  websites  and  Steve’s  personal  story.

As  someone  who  has  experienced  A-‐fibrillation  and  Atrial  Flutter  and  was  successfully  cardio-‐ablated,  I  found  the  book  informative  and  incredibly  insightful.
