Figure: PEST analysis

Political Factors:The political arena has a huge influence upon the regulation of businesses and the spending power of consumers and other businesses. Bangladeshi political environment is not so stable. Another matter is that the political rivalry is so high in Bangladesh. The strikes and other political issues are common phenomena in Bangladesh. Every Business has affected by the unstable government and the political issues. Our business will be not an exceptional. So, it will be a challenge for our newly start company. The government here is the very powerful agent for establishing the rules and regulation. The government policies that regulates tax are strongly affected the business in Bangladesh. Cruise service will also fall in this region.Corruptions have become a common thing in Bangladesh and this will surely leave a bad impact over our organization. Keeping this issue in mind we have learned that we will not get enough support from here.Economic Factors: Surprisingly our economic condition is far better that previous decades and it is growing in a moderate way which leaves a good sign for our business.Marketers need to think the state of a trading economy in the small and long-terms. Un-emplacement rate is also high. So the company gets the labor with a minimum cost.Long-term prospects for the economy is gross domestic product is very bright. Day to day the economy is developing and peoples living standard is becoming high because of the foreign direct investments and SME loans.

Social Factors:People of Bangladesh have a good cultural scene and they have also good ethical values .They is becoming more interested in cultural programs. People are getting interest in new thing to celebrate their special occasions like anniversary, honeymoon, get together party etc. They are tended towards media. This will provide a significant advantage. Technological factors:Modern technologies are being introduced every now and then. Bangladesh has not fallen behind. This improvement will help us to achieve a strong position in the industry. Technology is very important for spirited advantage and is a main driver of globalization. Technologies present consumers and businesses additional pioneering products and services.4.2. Porters Five Forces:Porters Five Factor is a framework for industry analysis and business strategy development which is the most influential analytical model for assessing the nature of competition in industry.

Figure: Porters five forces modelThreats of new entrance:

New entrants to an industry can raise the level of competition, thereby reduces its attractiveness. There is a threat of new entry in the current market all the time. From past decades we have learned that market has become more competitive. The demand for cruise is increasing as a result many tends to open up new taste to spend the vacation. The easier it is for a new solid to enter in commerce, the more cut-throat opposition there will be. The aspects that can limit danger of new applicant are called as Barriers to Entry. If the first cost to set up a new firm is tricky, then the probabilities of new applicants are very less. Once more pending back to oil sector, assessment and Production of oil and gas engages a highly resources and technology concentrated process of finding oil reserves, assessing its feasibility, drilling and removing. Hence creating an extremely high entry cost.If the industry uses ordinary technology, there is little or no product franchise and if the entry charge is low then it is very easy for a new applicant to enter into the industry. There are not many cruise vacation service company in Bangladesh .So the customer power is high. If the company increase the price or decrease the quality then the customers switch to other brand. Threat of substitute: The presence of substitute products can lower industry attractiveness and profitability because they limit price levels. In the current radio channel industry there are a number of channels who are developed technical service providers and well-recognized. As a result, we are also facing threats from other channels. Different substitutes are available for different category of products. Substitute products refer to goods in other industry. The threat that user will switch to an alternate product if there has been an augment in price of the creation or there has been diminishing in price of the replacement product.

Bargaining power of buyers: Buyers are those who take the services or products and therefore create demand in the industry. Since there are some numbers of cruise services in the market, buyers have more options. They can choose any .Buyers have the more bargaining power. This is the force a customer can rest on a business. If there are few buyers then the company is competent to say aloud the terms.Bargaining power of suppliers: Suppliers are the person or organizations who supply direct or indirect materials for running the business. Here the bargaining power of suppliers is very low because the number of company who want to advertise is higher in the existing market. A business to manufacture its products requires raw material, labor etc. This creates a buyer-supplier relationship in a business. If there are few suppliers providing material essential to make a product then they can set the price high to capture more profit. Rivalry among competitors:This describes the rivalry between the obtainable firms in a manufacturing. Greater the spirited rivalry lesser are the profit edge. The fee of the manufactured goods/services is the solitary most important factor that powers the customer's pay for decision. Thus to maintain low cost, companies steadily has to build manufacturing improvements to keep the matter competitive. This requires additional capital outlay which tends to eat up company's marketing. On the other give if no one else can give products/ services the method is followed by company is monopoly.Mergers and acquisition: As such in the industry there are no mergers or acquisitions. However if any MNC wishes to enter through this route then the competition might be severe.

4.3. SWOT analysis:

Figure: SWOT analysisStrengths: There are small numbers of cruise service in Bangladesh. If we get the popularity through our better services, then brand image will create among people. Absolutely optimistic. Day by day people are demanding different types of services to enjoy their vacation. Effective stride in new markets. Results of operations. Though its demand is increasing, we have to low our price with a profit so that people get attracted to enjoy our services in a higher rate. It will support its travel partner with training, online marketing and exclusive offers & savings to its secondary market.Weaknesses: Though the service is new, it may fail to create the proper awareness towards the target customer in lack of proper advertising and marketing. Limited international and rural presence. The vast majority of companys sales come from travel agent who arrange cruise on behalf of clients. The company depends on a broad base of going concern travel-agents, any prolonged slump or major consolidation in the travel agency business could adversely impact the company. The over-dependence on the market makes company vulnerable to the economic fluctuations of the Bangladeshi economy. Though the company depends on customers disposable income, it can affect the company. Due to economic instability, it is difficult to justify cash outflow. This may result in consequences like huge debt burden on the balance sheet and reduced profitability.Opportunities: The cruise industry has grown in the past but still occupies a small proportion. So it leads more opportunities to expand. People are now looking for cruises as vacation option. It can be an opportunity. Trends have shifted in the cruising industry from the past. Our cruise service can take advantage of the economics of scale and offer people the best prices. If our service can create brand loyalty, it will get a large number of repeat customers. It is a new taste among people.Threats: Free trade. International players are entering the market. Less contribution of government. Fuel prices are not stable. Accident can create negativity on the company. The threat of terrorist attack and geopolitical unrest can affect consumers perception of cruising. Natural disasters are threats to business.4.4. Industry & Product life cycle:Product refers to something which is capable of satisfying of the customer needs. This product includes both physical products and also the services. All the various stages that come in a products life are altogether known as Product Life Cycle. The Product Life Cycle of a product includes 4 major stages:Introduction Stage: This is a stage where the product is introduced, the market size and growth is not much. In this stage, there comes a need for substantial research and development costs to be calculated. Also, the product needs to be promoted and a proper distribution channel needs to be designed.Growth Stage: This is a stage where happens rapid growth in terms of sales and profits. Profits come up because of the increased output, which is known as economies of scale and thereby some better prices.Maturity Stage: This exists as the most common stage in all the markets. Here the competition exists at the peak and all the companies in one industry fight in order to maintain their share. The marketing and finance are the main key activities in this stage. This is the stage where the maximum profits are earned by the market in total.Decline Stage: Here, the market shrinks and keeps on shrinking, thereby reducing the overall profit amount which is thus shared amongst the competitors. Thus, there needs to be proper care taken of the product. The current conditions of the cruise line industry appear to be very promising, although the concept of cruising is relatively old, the industry is still in a beginning process. There are many signs that the industry will continue growing and there have been research to support these future expectations.Cruise line industry phase: The growth of the cruise industry has been fuelled by the North American market to a significant level. The European cruise market has shown notable improvements, which has motivated a number of cruise companies to make heavy investment in the European market. In addition, with the rise in the income levels and the overall population size, emerging markets like Asia have also gained an importance in this cruise market. The product life cycle of the cruise industry demonstrates the growth and maturation of cruising in the European and Northern American regions; however Asia still lies in the introduction phase of the product cycle as it is seen in the figure. A growing middle class, improved infrastructure and port expansions are positioning Asia Pacific as a serious player in the global cruise industry. What makes the cruise industry unique in this aspect compared to resorts is that cruises can offer a variety of cruise ships, a variety of potential itineraries and they can always adapt to seasonal and fundamental changes in the demand by repositioning their ships and changing the configuration of their port calls. There are also able to expand choices regarding cruise durations activities onboard the vessel. The cruise industry has a strong future ahead of them and there are numerous factors that will play a major role in shaping the tourists cruise business over the longer term. These factors can be summarized as: The global demographic changes will play a role; in particular the industrialized countries including aging of the population and an increasingly diverse range of family types have a strong impact on the future demand of cruising. Globalization of the free-market economy, also known as the BRIC countries. The new entry of countries, such as Brazil Russian Federation, India and China into the global economy represents the start of mass consumption for nearly 3 billion people. This will also be a challenge for the industry as they would have to adapt to the different customs of the new clientele of these countries.Future predictions:According to the cruise market watch, the total worldwide cruise industry is estimated at:Annualized total passengers carried worldwide will be 20.9 million in 2013, a 3,3% increase over 2012.36.2 billion dollars in 2013, which is a 4.5% increase over 2012,Total worldwide cruise capacity at the end of 2015 will be 438,595 passengers (a 3.0% increase over 2012) and 283 ships. Figure: Future predictions of the growth of the worldwide passenger carriedThe graph is derived from the cruise market watch and shows the predicted growth within the next couple of years. By 2017, 23.7 million cruise passengers are expected to be carried worldwide of which 59.1% will originate from North America and 27.4% Europe. The Industry is looking towards a significant increase in cruise lines in order for the supply to meet the demand. The manufacturing of ships will continue to create larger and bigger tons capacity and more innovative vessels and there will be more added functions in order to add more value to the services. In addition more attraction will be included in the ships. Innovative shipboard facilities and activities: By creating new diverse onboard amenities, facilities and services in order to meet the changing vacation patterns of customers.Positive factors that can influence or contribute the growth and demand:The nonprofit Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA), which is North Americas largest cruise industry organization, mentions that there are several factors that have triggered the growth of this particular industry, for instance: External factors: Globalization: The former CEO of CLIA, Christine Duffy mentions that One of the strongest trends has been the globalization of cruise line operations. New markets are building ports around the world, such as Europe and the Middle East. There are emerging locations in the UK, Scandinavia and northern and eastern Europe. Increase in welfare: The quality of life for everybody is getting better, the basic needs are covered, such as food, housing, education, and life expectancy is longer, people live longer and are healthier than before. Age population: The dominant target groups in the cruise line industry are 60 and above and the adult population 60 is continuing to grow, meaning more people living in retirement. They have time and money to spend. This increase will only be positive to the cruise line industry. Internal factors: Structure of industry: One of the major reasons for the success of the cruise line industryis due to the strong structure of the cruise market which is evident from porters five force analysis. The cruise industry as mentioned earlier has a high level of ownership concentration which makes it difficult for new markets to enter and the cruise is able to take advantage of the economy of scale. Since the demand is more than the supply, the industry has more power in the case of the buyers. Market segments/niche market: There are a variety of different market segments (luxury, premium, mainstream) which has gained the cruise ships popularity in the new generation. Brand equity: The industry has a brand image and strong brand portfolio among all the cruise lines, especially the major lines, which create a strong loyal customers towards the industry. Promotional offers: There are currently great package deals that have an influence in buyer decisions. Cruises nowadays offer more manageable prices through travel agencies and online travel sites. These deals normally include meals, offshore accommodation and entertainment expenses within the ticket fares making it an attractive vacation option compared to many expensive vacations. Behavior changes: People are looking for alternative vacation options and cruises offer a variety of themes, routes and destination. Variety of options (destinations and itinerary): There are many different routes to choose from These factors are a few of the many reasons why the cruise industry is experiencing a growth and why the cruise line industry remains highly dependent upon the supply of new cruises and has an occupancy rate of 103%,, meaning that cruise supply wins against the demand. Therefore the current trends in the industry are creating bigger ocean-vessel in order to fill in the spaces.4.5. Core Competence:It is a business activity that an organization does particularly well in comparison to its competitors should be distinctive only for me / non-duplicable / based on culture, relationship, demand etc. Core competences in this industry are:a. River cruiseb. Bay cruisec. MSC cruised. Bangladesh tourism cruise packagee. Sundarban cruise packagef. Keari Tours and Travels Ltd.4.6. Competitive advantage:The concept of competitive advantage is under constant review(Harris and Ogbonna, 2001). Porter (1980; 1985) proposed the concept of competitive advantage based on five forces framework, identifying how to gain competitive advantage. Porter (1985:1) stated competition is at the core of success or failure of firms (Porter, 1985) suggests that there are three strategies that need to be put into place in order to gain competitive advantage: cost leadership, differentiation and focus. Customer focused strategies such as Total Quality Management (TQM), Service Quality, Relation-ship Marketing, and Total Quality Control (TQC) can create satisfaction from customers and, therefore, loyalty, which is important to gain a competitive advantage (Lobo, 2008; Reed, Lemark and Mero, 2000).Service Quality, including service encounters, is an important factor that needs to be considered alongside competitive advantage, as it can influence customer satisfaction. Therefore, by having a service strategy in place, it is argued that it will increase the firms revenue, improve satisfaction and increase success, thereby providing a competitive advantage (Nordin, 2008).Another way to achieve a competitive advantage, in particular for destinations, is through careful marketing and branding (Anholt, 2007; Huang, Busby and Bosdou, 2009), creating an image and reputation for an area (Lpez-Gamero, Molina-Azorin and Claver-Corte, 2009).It is suggested by Agrawal and Kamakura (1999:262) that for a perfectly competitive market [would be that] in which consumers have full information about available products and producers have full information about consumer preferences.Government has a major influence on competitive advantage, through aspects such as laws, tariffs and charges (Brouthers and Brouthers, 1997; Chang, 2000). Governments can help by increasing investment, therefore aiding with access, time and reducing port charges, making it cheaper for cruise lines and passengers alike to visit (Grossman, 2008).In order to gain a competitive advantage, it is important to understand what the consumer wants and needs, this includes knowing the target segment (Debbage, 1999).Customer satisfaction is essential to gain a competitive advantage, due to completion. Improvements in service quality are vital to success, along with strong marketing of what is available from cruise companies and travel agents (Qu and Ping, 1999). Constantly planning and developing new ideas will aid a competitive advantage and sustain it (Progoulaki and Theotokas, 2010).4.7. Additional Strategic Consideration:Primary & Secondary Research:The main objective of undertaking this project was to compare the performance of cruise service with other of its kinds in the market. In this project we studied the techniques adopted by the brand to position itself in the market and also the various market segments catered by the brand were taken into account. Objectives included- Identifying the various market segments Conducting the marketing mix Analyzing the buying behavior of the customers. Studying the market share Analyzing the major competitors. Recommendations for improving the market share5. Market overview:Potential customers:The potential customers of the captain cruise are defined as the customer or group of customer that are part of the target market. The corporate people are one of the potential customers for our business. These people might plan a yearly vacation to their desired vacation. The cruise service can be a better option for them. The innovator type of customer always tries for new things. Cruise line business is a new in terms of Bangladesh perspective. The innovator customer will explore our new business and eventually converted into valued customer.Size and growth of the market:The market talks to each other, influences each other. So progress gets amplified. The more people who have ocean cruised, the more who will tell others, the more who will want to take an ocean cruise too. Worldwide, the cruise industry has an annual passengercompound annual growth rateof 7% from 1990 2018.Growth strategiesto date have been driven by larger capacity new builds and ship diversification, more local ports, more destinations and new on-board/on-shore activities that match demands of consumers. The industry is also expanding rapidly internationally. These activitieshelp increase penetration in a core North American market that still has growth potential.Based on the data Bangladesh also have the potential for a successful cruise line company. The Bangladesh also have the big market to achieve in the vacation services.6. Overall strategy:Companies overall strategy will show the short-term and long-term strategies which will help us to achieve the mission and vision of our company. Short-term Strategy: To maintain the quality we will use the best technology. We will provide services at a very reasonable price. We will focus on passengers safety. Create strong position by providing best services.Long-term Strategy:A long-term strategy that is supported by all key stakeholders is consequently needed to provide focus and combined with a top down approach; there is no question that the desired outcomes can be delivered in protecting the product whilst ensuring its sustainability for generations to come. Maintain a high degree of customer satisfaction. Stimulate greater regional and annual dispersion of customers through investment in improved access and customer related infrastructure combined with more focused marketing and promotional efforts. The cruise service industry needs to take action now in order not to fall behind its main competitors in terms of sustainability. Simplified and consolidated brand image and marketing messages. 9.Human resource strategy:Key Issues:How the business will deal with the key issues depends on the HR manager and the Company policy. The HR manager and the company must recruit employees, arrange and carry out training, prevent discrimination, establish and distribute benefits, resolve conflicts, keep worker safe and encourage and maintain diversity.Recruitments: Recruitment is very tough job in new a business. Though it is a new business, we are looking for some experienced workers. Crew vacation service very much For recruitment finding the qualified employees can be the most difficult and time-consuming function of HR. Recruitment, the marketing function of human resources, requires lots of creativity to find quality candidates that will fit with the organizations culture and remain with the company over time. It requires a lot of creativity to find candidates that will fit with the organizations culture and remain with company overtime. Related to practical activities, so we want to recruit some people who have practical knowledge.Education: Educational qualification plays a vital role in selecting new workers in a new business. Education is very important in every sector for measuring standards. Although in the field level workers have not required educational qualification rather than working experience.Training: As it is new business, we want to train our labor and employees so that we can increase our productivity and reduce our wastage. As people of this country are not that much familiar with cheese we will have to bring workers that are capable of making good quality cheese. Those workers will train our local workers for a certain period of time. The Turn-Key project method can be implemented here. It is a matter of doing business whereby a foreign entrepreneur supplies the manufacturing technology for a business and then turns it over to local owners. Training is also an investment process and investing in talent through both basic training and preparing employees will pay off on the long run.Legal Issue:Another significant issue for our factory can be the legal issues that arise from having diversity in the workplace. Because our HR department will hire both men and women, as well as people from a diversity of cultural and ethnic backgrounds, legal issues might sometimes cause our restaurant to shift its focus from hiring and training to cleaning up potentially divisive and devastating legal issues like sexual harassment, discrimination in the workplace or even issues regarding benefits and workers' rights. One way that many businesses can deal with such issues is to simply incorporate them into the training regimen for new employees. By fully educating employees from the outset and enforcing a "no tolerance" policy for violating legal mandates, many companies have been able to keep legal issues from arising in the first placeStrict laws that make rights abuses and discrimination in the workplace severely punishable now govern many countries. This is illegal in these countries to discriminate based on age, gender, religion, race, ethnic origin, nationality, color, sexual orientation and pregnancy. HR managers need to be aware of this and their methods need to reflect this.Benefits:The companies usually distribute benefits among employees by complying with local, regional, international or national regulations. The benefit packages commonly include a healthcare insurance, life insurance, product discount. The company must keep the records of employee work duration because if employees are terminated, the benefits will stop automatically.Conflict Resolution:Conflict resolution is a major part of a HR managers job in that it is always easier and cheaper to keep an existing employee than to recruit and train a new one. As such, the conflicts that arise from different departments, workers and employment levels need to be resolved effectively.

Health:

A health benefit is also a very important issue for our company and it matters a lot to workers who need coverage for themselves and their family members. We will offer free medical care to both our full-time employees as well as Part-time employee. We need to study and analyze our industry to decide on which are the appropriate medical facilities that we'll provide our employees.Safety:Safety is also a major part of training organization, as many businesses follow practices that minimize risk and promote safety, whether they are using specialist, potentially dangerous equipment or not. Therefore, everything right down to small issues needs to be considered when organizing staff and departments.Workplace Diversity:Workplace diversity elevates companies because it provides many different perspectives during decision-making, broadens the company's reach in the market and allows everyone an equal chance to advance. Diversity, however, cannot be effectively implemented without cooperation approach from management to confront the challenges and obstacles that will automatically arise along the way.

Risk Analysis:Risk can be measured in different ways & different conclusions about asset riskiness can be reached depending on the measured used. Risk analysis can be confusing, but it will help if remember the following: All financial assets are expected to produce the cash flows, and the riskiness of an asset is judged in terms of the riskiness of its cash flows. The riskiness of an asset can be considered in two ways: on a standalone basis, where the assets cash flows are analyzed by themselves or in a portfolio context, where the cash flows from a number of assets are combined, & then the considered cash flows are analyzed. An asset can be divided into two components. One is diversifiable risk , which can be diversified away and thus is of little concern diversified investors & market risk , which reflects the risk of a general stock market decline & which cannot be eliminated by diversification, hence does concern investors. Asset with a high degree of a relevant market risk must provide a relatively high expected rate of return of attract investors. Investors in general are averse to risk, so they will not buy risky assets unless those assets have right expected returns.Risk on HR:

1. The HR strategy carries a number of inherent risks. These include a lack of resources to support the implementation of the different HR initiatives; inadequacies of current systems and tools; lack of commitment to its implementation from all enablers; changing priorities; and the need to manage expectations.

2. The success of the HR strategy is completely dependent upon the combined efforts of all levels of the Organization and among all three sets of enablers. The strategy will fail if each one of these components does not take responsibility for its shared implementation.

3. Systems and tools must be used and possibly adapted to support implementation. Implementation of the strategy will have to be prioritized according to available resources. The right level is needed for both staff and finances. For example, the work to develop the skills inventory requires increased staffing and financial support.

4. The work of HR in any organization is a long-term undertaking, particularly when the aim is to bring about fundamental cultural changes, especially in the areas of career management andmobility. It takes time to develop good managers and groom the skills and competenciesnecessary to respond to the Organizations new priorities. Further, as priorities change, so willstaffing needs. Succession planning, for example, can be effective only when there is a vision ofthe Organizations work and needs for the next five to ten years, and the profile of staff neededfor those priorities has been identified.5. Ultimately, the initiatives proposed in the HR Strategy are highly dependent on aFinancing model that allows predictable funding and global and holistic management of Captain cruise human resources.Risk Analysis:As we started a new business and our main product is making cheese, we face a lot of foreseeable and unforeseeable barriers. But we should handle those barriers very carefully for continuing our business.Foreseeable Barriers: We need huge amount of investment to start the business at a full scale. In Bangladesh, most of the people live in village, they dont go for this type of vacation eats and besides they dont have any idea about crew vacation service. For this reason they dont go for it. Thats why we cannot reach them. Its a big foreseeable barrier for our company. Unforeseeable Barriers:

Political situation in Bangladesh at the moment is at a stable point but due to the experience that we had for seven long months before the election in 2014, no one is certain. And most situational factors that affect businesses is before and right after elections which is not coming anytime soon, so we can say its safe for another four years or so. At present we dont have more competitors. But in future we should handle this unforeseeable barrier. The other one is Economic slowdown. Our unforeseeable barriers also can be: Hurricane Tsunami Sea storm Weather depression10.
