EDINBURG NORTH HIGH SCHOOL CONTEST INFORMATION I. Directions From San Antonio Area: (230 miles) Travel onto I-37 South Take Exit 56 toward US-59/GeorgeWest/Beeville Turn Right on US-59 South Turn Left onto S Nueces St/ US 281 South Take ramp toward Business 281 S/ Edinburg Continue past Monte Cristo Rd Turn Right on Rogers Rd to Student Parking Lot ALL PARKING (SPECTATOR, BUS, TRUCKS, ETC.) WILL BE IN THE FACULTY/STUDENT PARKING LOT, LOCATED SOUTH OF CAMPUS IS OFF OF ROGERS RD

II. Contest Flow All contest rules and regulations from the 2018 TECA Constitution and By-Laws and the 2018 WGI Rule Book will be followed. A. Parking Spectator and Bus parking will be at the parking lots located off of Rogers Rd (south entrance of school). Please share with parents! Group check in and Equipment drop off will be at the north entrance of the covered breezeway (in front of the softball field). Enter using the bus lane, which is located off of Rogers Rd. (Between the student parking lot and the stadium).All performers and equipment/props will be unloaded at the check-in station. Then have your trucks/buses proceed to the south parking lot for remainder of contest. PLEASE DO NOT HAVE YOUR TRUCKS/TRAILERS PARKED IN THE BUS LANE B. Check-In Procedures The check-in table will be located at the north entrance of the covered breezeway (in front of the softball field and near Performing Art Center). Again, use bus lane entrance off of Rogers Rd.

Performers, crew, and staff admission Performing members and crew member will need to check in at the check-in table prior to warm-up. Admission will be given to 3 directors plus 10 student crew members and all bus drivers with credentials. A. Performers Area/Cafeteria The cafeteria will be the official holding area for performers. If extra warm-up time is needed, there are plenty of open areas available to spin/warm-up outside. Please do not spin in high traffic areas. B. Body and Equipment Warm-Up When it is time for your guard to be “READY” according to the schedule you will be escorted by a monitor to each warm up area and to the performance gym. Body warm-up will be in the cheer room. The group will then be escorted to the Practice gym. A sound system will be available if needed. Equipment warm-up will be in the practice gym. You will meet your props/floor outside of the performance gym. A sound system will be available if needed.

Warm up and Performance Notes for Drumlines & Winds Warm up will be allowed around the band hall area, Performing Arts Center Parking lot, etc. There is no electricity available in this area. Someone will come and find your group at your ready time to escort you to the performance gym.

WE WILL BE UT IL IZ ING A HORIZONTAL T IME L INE FOR THE PERFORMANCE AREA E. Post Performance ALL MEMBERS/FLOOR/PROPS WILL PROCEED IMMEDIATELY FROM PERFORMANCE GYM TO A DESIGNATED AREA (SOUTH OF THE PERFORMANCE GYM, OUTSIDE OF THE CAFETERIA) FOR RE-FOLDING. The buses will be parked in the West zone of the parking lot. Trucks can be parked and waiting in the student drop off lane (portable building area) for quick loading. Judges' comments will be delivered electronically through Competition Suite

F. Critique

The adjudicators of TECA will host a critique session immediately following retreat in the main building.

If there is a problem with one of your tapes, you will need to fill out the WGI Color Guard Instructors Evaluation Form

in you 2018 WGI Color Guard and Adjudication Manual and Rule Book.

III. Concessions

Morning and afternoon concessions will be available. The concession stand will be located in the cafeteria.
