Edgewood Valley was founded in 1910 in La Grange,
Illinois, and moved to its current location in 1926.
William Diddel, a very well-known course designer
during this era, designed the golf course. Significant
efforts have been made over the years to maintain
the unique design features he originally installed.
As course improvements have been made over the
past few years, some of the most notable include
the complete renovation of the bunkers and several
changes to tee boxes in 2006. We trust you will agree
that Edgewood Valley ranks among the finest private
courses in the Chicago area, and is perhaps the
most fun and challenging to play on a regular basis.
We proudly hosted the Illinois State Amateur
Tournament in 2006, and as a testament to the
difficulty of our course only one player finished
under par. Other recent newsworthy events include
the hosting of the Tiger Woods Foundation/Ernie
Els Foundation & Fancourt Foundation Friendship
Cup during the Western Open week of 2006. Tiger
Woods, who recalled playing our course as a Junior
Amateur, attended both the event and a post-
tournament banquet with our Board of Directors.
While our course and club may still be one of the
best-kept secrets in Chicago, our commitment to and
support of Amateur Golf has been widely recognized
in the golfing industry.

The Edgewood Valley social calendar is full of events
for adults, children and families. Some of our major
events include a 4th of July celebration that over
1,000 people attend, an Adult Summer Party, a
Wine-at-Wholesale Night, a Halloween Party and
special candlelit dinners during the Christmas season.
We host over twenty-five unique events annually for
our members to enjoy.
Edgewood Valley Country Club Members give
consistent support toward the WGA Par Club, which
provides annual funding for a college education
in the lives of more than 800 deserving men and
women caddies. Each Evans Scholarship provides
full tuition and housing for the recipient and can
be renewed over four years. Since its beginning in
1930, over 8,500 scholarships have been awarded.
EVCC Members are well known for their support of
the Evans Scholarships, and many of our members
participate in this outstanding form of philanthropy.
Edgewood Valley Country Club has two bowling
leagues: the Ladies’ Tuesday Morning League and
the Thursday Evening Husband/Wife Leagues. The
bowling leagues meet at a local bowling facility.
Teams are formed throughout the year and
competition takes place weekly. The Husband/Wife
League has both fall and winter sessions. Bowling is
a terrific way to meet other members.

At Edgewood Valley Country Club, we take great
pride in our outstanding 18-hole golf course. We
are constantly grooming and maintaining the course
to provide the best golfing experience possible.
Edgewood Valley Country Club is a member of the
following professional associations: the United States
Golf Association, the Western Golf Association, and
the Chicago District Golf Association.
Regular members of Edgewood Valley Country Club
enjoy full access to our elite course, and our Social
Awaiting Regular members enjoy some of the most
generous access policies in the area. Whether you
are looking for a quick round of 9 holes or the full
18, our course delivers the excitement and challenge
you are seeking. We proudly maintain an outstanding
caddie program to assist you as you golf.
The golf course renovation project in 2006 lengthened
the course and raised the total number of bunkers to
104. The course plays longer than its yardage due to
the well-bunkered, narrow fairways that wind through
the tall oak trees on our course. For example, hole
three is a short par-4 but features a severe dogleg. It
requires an incredibly accurate tee shot to have any
chance of hitting this green. While long-hitters may
have an opportunity to drive the ball over bunkers
and around some of the doglegs, the key to success
at Edgewood Valley lies in the greens. Placing your
approach shot on the correct side of each hole and
staying below the pin is the only way to succeed on
our small and fast greens.
In addition to our exceptional golf course, Edgewood
Valley Country Club features full practice facilities
including a driving range, a sand practice area and
a putting clock. Our Pro Shop is priced using our Mill
River discount plan and is stocked with golf apparel
and equipment to help you look great and play at
the top of your game. Our professional golf staff is
available for clinics, group and private golf lessons.
