Words from the Superintendent

By Dr. José A. Cervantes

Happy holidays, Edgewood ISD. We are at the end of 2013; this year certainly passed quickly.

Th is time of year is a season of lights, new beginnings, and a hope that all of us can make a big diff erence in the world. Whatever your role in Edgewood ISD may be, you have something special to off er and give to others.

Your talents and areas of expertise are gifts.

Th e holiday season, for many, is a time when we make wish lists and look forward to opening gifts from people who love us. I have a wish list of my own.

I hope you are happy working for Edgewood ISD and providing the best service to our students and community. In this time of giving, let us share and do for each other and

for those who depend on us.

Edgewood ISD has approximately 12,000 students and 1,800 employees who count on us to listen, do our jobs well, be responsive, deliver positive results, and bring satisfaction through our hard work and quality services.

My wish is that we recall our vision statement that conveys so much meaning - Edgewood

ISD provides a solid foundation with a World-Class Education. I hope your read these words and practice them in your daily work.

Th ere are numerous songs this time of year that talk about shiny red noses, winter wonderlands, and being good or else. I like to think of this season as one of everlasting hope, fulfi llment of promises, never-ending love, generosity and kindness, and appreciating what we have.

Enjoy the upcoming winter break. Re-energize your minds and bodies, and make plans for a bigger and better new year.

Have a joyous and wonderful holiday season.
