Delayed Egress Exit DeviceThedelayedegressoptionprovidesadditional security and safety in a strong lineofpanichardware.Thedelayedegress exit device is an electromechanical device used to secure interior or exterior openings.Theoptionisavailableforrim,SecureBolt® and concealed vertical rod devices in all standard finishes.

OperationTheexitdoorisnormallyclosedandlatched.TheDelayedEgressExitDevice“D”securesthedoorinthelockedmodewiththesolidRedLEDindicatinglockedmode status. Depressing the push pad for less than 3 seconds will sound the nuisance beep without initiating the alarm. Depressing the pushpad for 3 seconds or longer will initiate an irreversible local audible beeping tone and a visual amber indicatoruntilthedevicereleases.Theperson depressing the exit bar is denied egressfor15or30secondsandsecuritypersonnelarealerted.Afterthedelaytimeof15or30secondsthedevicereleases,theLEDchangestoGreen,andthealarmchanges to a steady tone which continues toalarmuntilmanuallyresetbykey.Theremote monitoring contact outputs can be used to alert security personnel.

Theexitdevicechassisshallbecoldforgedsteel,electroplatedforcorrosionresistance,andshallbearchitecturallyfinishedbrass,bronzeorstainlesssteel.Thepushpadmechanismshallbeconstructedofextrudedaluminumandshallbescalpedwitharchitectur-allyfinishedbrass,bronzeorstainlesssteel.Themaximumprojectionshallbe3-1/4"whenthepushpadisactiveand2-3/4"whenthepushpadisdoggeddown.Nylonbearingsandstainlesssteelspringsshallbeusedforlonglifeanddurability;onlytorsion springs are acceptable. Rear and active case covers shall be wrought brass or bronze and shall be plated to match the exit bar.
