Édition originale rare. Maurice Allais (1911-2010), économiste français, a reçu le Prix Nobel

d’économie en 1988. En 1947 il publie Économie et Intérêt , livre qui traite du problème de l’intérêt. Il

n’y perd jamais de vue les deux faces inséparables de l’intérêt : le montant qu’un prêteur doit recevoir

pour renoncer à la liquidité qui lui procure la monnaie, le prix que prennent en compte investisseurs et

épargnants pour déterminer leur demande et leur offre de capital. Et, à partir de cette base, il étudie les

processus capitalistiques de production, la théorie de l’optimum de Pareto, la théorie de l’optimum

capitalistique correspondant à la répartition optimale des facteurs de production entre leur utilisation

directe et leur utilisation indirecte.( Etienne Chouard)

C’est une contribution majeure, qui propose une synthèse des théories classique et keynésienne du

taux d’intérêt, en introduisant des considérations temporelles dans le modèle d’équilibre général

précédemment élaboré.

Édition originale. La monnaie est au cœur des travaux de recherche économique de Maurice Allais

(1911-2010). Elle traverse tout son œuvre depuis Économie et Intérêt publié en 1947 jusqu’aux

Fondements de la dynamique monétaire publiés en 1999.

Le noyau de ces recherches est la formulation héréditaire et relativiste de la dynamique monétaire, un

jeu d’équations mathématiques, sur le modèle des sciences physiques, permettant, moyennant l’emploi

de diverses constantes, de rendre compte de phénomènes complexes. L’approche exige d’une part de

constituer des séries chronologiques significatives et d’autre part de vérifier que les équations

proposées rendent bien compte des données empiriques. Basée au départ sur trois constantes

arbitraires, l’équation de la dynamique monétaire n’en comptera plus que deux lorsque Maurice Allais

fera le postulat de l’équivalence entre l’oubli du passé et l’actualisation de l’avenir et vérifiera que les

Édition originale rare. J.-A. Brillat-Savarin (1755-1826) fut un pur produit du siècle des Lumières.

Magistrat à 25 ans, fils de notables, c’est aussi un esprit éclairé qui s’intéressa autant à la musique qu’à

la médecine, l’archéologie, la chimie ou les sciences politiques. 1801 il publie un essai personnel Vues

et projets d’économie politique dans lequel il propose des moyens de réorganiser la société française

après la révolution, afin de mieux assurer la prospérité publique. Il publie aussi plusieurs travaux de

philosopher who taught at Hamburg University until emigrating in 1933. After his emigration he

taught at Oxford, Göteborg, Yale and Columbia. In this book he seeks to replace traditional

metaphysics with a fundamental study of human nature.

Erste Ausgabe. Otto Conrad (1876-1943) war österreichischer Nationalökonom. Er orientierte sich an

Adolph Wagner und Gustav Cassel. Seine Anschauungen standen oft im Widerspruch zu denen der

Österreichischen Schule der Nationalökonomie. In der vorliegenden Untersuchung geht es um das

Verhältnis, in welchem der Lohn und die Rente zueinander stehen, und darum, welche

Existenzberechtigung die Rente in einer Volkswirtschaft hat.

First edition. Francis Ysidro Edgeworth (1845-1926) was one of the pre-eminent Irish economists and

statisticians of his era. From 1891 until 1922 he was Drummond Professor of Economics at Oxford

and a fellow of All Souls College. The results of Edgeworth’s application of mathematics to ethics,

statistics, the theory of international trade, taxation and monopoly theory remain highly influential.

The papers in this collection comprise the most significant articles and book reviews which Edgeworth

First edition. François Marie Charles Fourier (1772-1837) was a French philosopher, influential early

socialist thinker and one of the founders of utopian socialism. This is his last, important but also his

most disorderly book. For this reason and the wild pagination it has not been included in his collected

works. In this book he modified and completed some of his theories, for example the distribution of

capital and his “projet de phalanstère d’enfants”. But these modifications did not change the character

remembered chiefly for above Mémoire which owes its fame in part to the Observations sur la

moved to England where he published in 1705 the first version of his work under the title The

Grumbling Hive. The continual attacks led Mandeville to add an increasing number of expositions,

elaborations and defenses in successive editions. The present French edition is a translation of the

sixth English edition. The work is a parable anticipating the mechanisms of modern capitalism.

According to Kress it was due to Smith the work had an immense influence on political economy.

Jesuit, was an important early economic and political theorist, and a leading figure of the School of

Salamanca. De rege and regis is one of the most important publications in the history of political

thought of the period drawing ideas in particular from Bodin and Erasmus. The author expressed his

point of view with remarkable frankness and boldness. He therefore was forced to make some

corrections in this second edition. De ponderibus et mensuris treats mainly of the comparative values

of Roman, Greek, Hebrew, and Spanish weights and measures against those of Toledo. With this

writing on weights, measures and another tract on money he contributed essentially to the construction

der unmittelbar vorausgegangene Kauffmanns-Jung Marpergers eigenes Werk. Nur im Handels-

Diener befindet sich ein aus dem Parfait Négociant bloß übersetzter Abschnitt über die Vorarbeiten

zur Selbständigmachung. Er gehört natürlich schon mehr in die eigentliche Handlungswissenschaft

hinein. Mit dieser stehen im übrigen beide Bücher nur insofern in Zusammenhang, als der Kaufmann

in seiner Rolle als Lehrherr und Brotgeber behandelt wird, aber gerade diese Ausführungen sind es

Erste Ausgabe. Es handelt sich um den Abdruck der Vorlesungen, die Schneider 1933 an der

Technischen Hochschule in Kopenhagen gehalten hat. Das Manuskript wurde zuvor von Ragnar

Frisch durchgesehen. E. Schneider (1900-1970) studierte Mathematik, Physik und Nationalökonomie.

Nach einem Rockefeller-Stipendium, das im von 1933 bis 1935 einen Aufenthalt in Kopenhagen

ermöglichte, wurde er Professor an der Universität Arhus in Dänemark. Nach 1945 kehrte er nach

Deutschland an die Universität Kiel zurück, wo er bis zu seinem Tode lehrte und forschte.

schönen Druck und eine gute Übersetzung aus. Der Übersetzer B.H. Brockes war ein bedeutender

Jurist des 18. Jahrhundert. Xenophon zählte neben Platon und Aristoteles zu den griechischen

Philosophen, die sich mit ökonomischen Fragen ihrer Zeit auseinander setzten. Er verfasste zwei

Abhandlungen ökonomischen Inhalts: Vom Hauswesen und Wege zur Steigerung der Einkünfte von
