Tata Motors to launch Aria within a month, may price it
Rs 10 lakh

• TATA Motors will launch Aria cross over between a MUV and a SUV in the next month.
• It will be priced around Rs 10 lakh.• Aria is intended to be in competition with Toyota
Innova and M&M’s Xylo.• The Aria sports a 2.2-litre common rail diesel engine.• It blends the functionality and comfort of a mid-range
MPV with the all-terrain assurance and premiumness of an SUV.
• Safety features include 6 airbags and Electronic Stability Program (ESP), offered by an Indian manufacturer for the first time.

Volkswagen-Suzuki pact set for India run

• German carmaker Volkswagen (VW) may extend its global partnership with Suzuki in India by tapping the manufacturing and design facilities of Maruti-Suzuki in India.
• Both automakers are likely to work together at Maruti-Suzuki’s new plant at Manesar.
• VW intends to use this production facility to raise its presence and market share in India.
• Volkswagen India chief Mueller said that the company is looking at capturing an 8% market share in the next 3-4 years.
• In December 2009, VW, Europe’s largest carmaker, agreed to buy a 19.9% stake in Maruti Suzuki’s Japanese parent for $2.5 billion.

Suzlon crosses 5,000 MW of wind power installations in
India

• The country's largest wind turbine manufacturer, Suzlon Energy today said it has crossed 5,000 MW of cumulative installations in India, underlining the strong momentum in the country's fast-growing wind energy market.
• Suzlon has cumulatively added over 5,000 MW of wind power capacity for over 1,500 customers in India across 40 sites in eight states.
• In just over a decade, India's wind market has grown from just around 50 MW per year to nearly 2,000 MW per year.
• India is the world's fifth biggest wind market with a cumulative installed base of over 12,000 MW.
• The total estimated on-shore wind power potential in India, as per data from the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) is over 48,000 MW.
