Advantages

• Strictly centralized system

• Unified methodology

• Sound technological base

• Highly skilled and qualified personnel

Disadvantages

• Concentrated on monitoring of plan

• Non-harmonised methodology

• Isolated and closed system; not oriented to broad audience

• Only total surveys or censuses

• No observation on some core areas (unemployment, inflation, SNA…)
