• The planning of Freeport LNG commenced in 2000.• The terminal was commissioned in 2008 to receive LNG.• The USACE permit to widen the channel was issued in 2009.• The US shale gas boom resulted in limited import utilization.• Availability of domestic gas facilitated production/export of LNG. • FLNG received their FERC permit to produce & export in 2014.• Three LNG production lines (called Trains) are being built. • Design production quantity is approx. 15 million tons per year.• A second ship dock has been built to export this quantity.• The Entrance & Jetty channels were widened to 600ft in 2015.• The terminal can now receive the world’s largest LNG ships.• Train No. 1 is due to be commissioned in 2019• Commissioning of Trains No. 2 and No. 3 to follow.
