Over the course of his or her work- ing career, the average SCCC student’s lifetime earnings will increase $8.20 for every dollar invested in their SCCC education (in the form of tuition, fees, and foregone earnings). Students see their annual income in- crease, on average, by $237 per year for every credit completed at SCCC. The average annual income of the typical Associate Degree graduate from SCCC at the midpoint of his or her career is $53,000, 37% more than someone with a high school diploma. Over the course of a working lifetime, Associate Degree graduates from SCCC earn $590,400 more than someone with a high school diploma. By 2018 it is anticipated that there will be about 17,600 new and replace- ment jobs available in the SCCC Service Area economy. About 31% of these jobs will require an education level equal to an associ- ate’s degree or greater. Another 4% of available jobs in 2018 will require some kind of post-sec- ondary certificate or vocational award.
