APHGEconomic Geography – studies the impact of

economic activities on the landscape and investigates the reasons behind the location of economic activity

1. Primary Activities -concerned directly with natural resources of any

kind, such as mining, ag. or forestry2. Secondary activities -those that are process, transform, fabricate, or assemble raw materials, textile manufacture, steelmaking, auto assembly3. Tertiary activities- involved with sales and exchange or goods and services, such as retail stores, accounting, and entertainment 4. Quaternary activities -dealing with handling and processing of knowledge and information, including data processing, education, and research and development
