ADHESIONMost epoxies do not stick well. The adhesion rate is typically 50%.

Ecodur's adhesion rate is 98% to 100%. It covalently bonds to wood, steel, concrete and natural fibers, including straw.

FLEXABILITY

Most epoxies are not flexible. They tend to crack and flake in heat and cold very quickly allowing moisture, oxygen, and contaminants to reach the base surface.

Ecodur is flexible, highly protective and has passed forward and reverse impact tests.

COSTMost epoxies are expensive. Material costs are high and the application process is difficult.

Ecodur is cost effective. It applies easily and the equipment requires no use of potentially contaminating and expensive to dispose of solvents. The overall life cycle costs are much lower.

PERFORMANCE

Epoxies often show early failure and have a limited lifespan, particularly in harsh industrial and marine conditions.

NanoTech products have a 20-year pedigree in marine and concrete construction applications that demonstrate they vastly outperform epoxies.

APPLICATIONSPEED

Epoxy coatings takes about twice as much effort to apply to cover a particular surface.

NanoTech products apply in half the time. This is due the fast cure rates and the minimal surface preparation requirements. Our products do not slide on vertical surfaces due to fast set up times.

ENVIRONMENT

Most epoxies are toxic and petrochemical based. Clean up requires hazardous solvents such as acetone.

Ecodur does not use solvents either in its composition, application or equipment clean-up whatsoever. NanoTech Ecodur is non-toxic. Coatings are applied using a 100% Solvent free spray system.

Potable Water Certification

Potable Water Certification is the hardest to achieve Ecodur is used in water treatment and desalination plants Ecodur is also used in fish farms raising baby salmon fry NSF-61 Certification

Color Tinting

NanoTech Ecodur can be tinted to any color Iron Oxide is added to Ecodur during the mixing process to

achieve desired color This also combats UV discoloration

Temperature

NanoTech Ecodur can be applied from -25C to 95C or -13F to 203F

Winter operations can still be carried out Cure times will vary in dramatic temperature

changes In 23C (73F) Ecodur will remain tacky for 10

minutes on average, ability to walk on coating in 1 hour and cure in 24 hours

Expansion Additive

An additive can be added to NanoTech Ecodur which will increase expansion properties

Insulation value is usually the only requirement R7 is achieved for every 1” thickness of Ecodur Expansion additive is very cost effective

Adhesion

NanoTech Ecodur achieves a 98 – 100% adhesion rating Traditional epoxy's obtain 50 – 60% adhesion Adhesion is vital to lifespan of any coating This remarkable adhesion rating is obtained though the

We needed additional capacity at a salt water injection facility in West Texas and hoped to coat and re-purpose two steel 300 bbl production tanks. NanoTech Ecodur was chosen due to it’s strong chemical resistance, flexibility, bond strength, ease of application and price. However, as the crew assembled and began cleaning/sandblasting, severe corrosion was discovered with several dime sized holes in the tank bottoms and lower sidewalls. Adding to my concern was a forecast for heavy rain to begin falling later that afternoon. Thinking the operation may need to be re-scheduled, I contacted my NanoTech technical representative. I was surprised to hear their confidence in continuing the job, but increasing the coat-ing thickness in the suspect areas. The fast-curing Ecodur allowed us to complete the necessary work before the heavy rains began. Being VOC-free, the crew was able to work quickly with only normal hard hat and eye protection. No special breathing apparatus was required.After some minor touch ups, Ecodur provided a complete seal inside the tank area and our facility is running smoothly. The job was completed well within the time allocation which allowed the workers to return home for the weekend.
