👚Throw away fashion👚Nowadays people buy lots of clothes every week which uses natural resources such as water,cotton and linen. Whereas in previous times you might only buy a special thing every few months! Prices in shops like Primark are very cheap so they could break really easily so you buy more and more. Have you ever mended anything? Or did you just throw it away? Before the 20th century people couldn't afford more clothes so they had to wear stained, damaged clothes or they repair them.

Did you know to make enough cotton for 1 pair of jeans it takes 18000 gallons of water!

Lots of clothes are made in China in places called sweat shops which would use loads of electricity.

Why is it non eco friendly to make

clothes?

To make cotton it is very hazardous and non eco friendly because there are poisonous pesticides which are sprayed on the fields so toxins go into the environment which is bad.

Did you know that polyester is made out of oil!!!

A huge amount of clothing comes from China where it needs to be shipped over on a boat or plane and the use loads of fuel and oil to move.

Stationary ✏✒📓📚Most people buy stationary because it looks cute or

nice. Lots of people think that Tinc and Smiggle are

the best stationary shops because they are very

well known, but other shops can be just as good. All

the plastic and rubber used to make pencil cases

and small cute rubbers could be used to make

simple household items for the poor people. Some

stationary is unusable and only used for display but

expensive. Some of the rubbers are made out of

plastic and if people try to use them then they'll

smudge the writing. So try not to spend so much

money on expensive stationary.💸

Do you really think before you buy your stationary? All the

Tinc and Blot pencil cases are cute but did you know that

they are by the same company? Also do you just buy the

stationary because it looks good or because you really

need it?

What the plastic could be used for🌏

All the plastic could be used to do good to our planet. If people

recycle their old stationary instead of keeping it

somewhere in their bedroom then it could be make into new toys for the poor. If you have any old stationary then try to

recycle it or reuse it for something useful for the

future. So try to make your old stationary into something new.

Waste WeekWaste week is a bit like switch off

fortnight but focuses on not throwing too many things away. At school we are going to have a green heart day. This means that everyone in school can come into school wearing any type of green heart they can make(including cake). RSM waste week is

running from Monday 14th March to Friday

18th March. We will be thinking about what we throw away, and what we

waste but don't really think about.
