ECIWO Biologyand Bio-Holographic Acupuncture

lntrcductionA number of therapies are based on the commonprinciple that the whole orSanism is found projectedin a circumscribed part of the body: ear acupunctureand ear medicine, nasal reflexology and noseacupuncture, foot reflexoloSy, hand reflexology andhand acupuncture, oral acupuncture, Yamamoto'snew scalp acupuncture, etc. These therapies havebeen classif ied as either acupuncture microsystems,or as somatotopic, holographic or bio-holographicmethods. They have proved useful in cl inicalpractice and are now increasingly gaining world-wide recognit ion.Apparently these methods reflect a general physio-

logical principle: a kind of holographic mirroring ofthe whole organism in i ts pafts. l t is a dynamic, two-way relationship: a pathological change in thewhole organism is reflected in correspondingchanges in each of the microsysterns, and alhe apeu,i( inlenpntion in onc ot t l^e mir ro.ystem.may effect a corresponding change in the wholeorganism. That is why we can use these methodsboth for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.The common nature of these methods suggests that

they afe due to a general biological principle: a kindof holographic structuring of the l iving organism.Such a principle would obviously serve the purposeof biological organization. l t would help us toexpiain how a I ivinS orSanism, which to theanalytical eye is composed of an inf inite number ot

parts/ may as yet function as a whoJe and preserveinternal coherence. On the embryological impJica-t ions of this principle, I wrote in 1982:

"The ability to utilise holographic prccesses maythu. bc a fundampntdl p@pefl\ ot Ii\ing otgani<m..We should expect it to be an intrinsic mechanism inembryological development, a means by which theembryological plan of the or]anism is worked out.Dr. Nogie/s image of the human ear and theembtyo would thus convey a double insigllt: that ofthe prcjection of the oryanism in the ear, and that olthe fundamental signilicance of the holographicptinciple in the embryololical development." Unti l fecently we have, however, had no generalbiological science al lowing us to explore the ful limplications of this holographic structuring of l ivingbeings. Such a new hypothesis has now beendeveloped in China and is presented as a newdiscipl ine to biology and medicine under the nameof ECIWO biology.

ECIWO biologyThe founder of ECIWO biology is Professor YingqingZhang of Shandong University. ECIWO is anabridgement ol " Embryo Containing Information ofthe Whole Organism". The idea is that each pan ofthe organism with a certain degree of unrLy contarnsinformation of the whole organism and lrussesses apotential of this wholeness as an embryonicposibi l : tv In ihis \pn.p Ihe pafl ha. lol ipotcn( \. t t 15dn cnbryo ol rhe orgdnrsm, or an LCIWO. ThF ear(as we know from ear acupuncture) of the foot (aswe know from foot reflexology) are such EClWOs.On a more microscopic level, the cell becomes aspecial case of the ECIWO theory. In the DNA of i tschromosomes it carries the information of the wholebody as a biomolecular blueprint.An organism thus consists of differently speciaJised

mult i level ECIWO5 at different developmentalstages. AII of these ECIWO5 have totipotency indifferent degrees. As we know, under favourablecondit ions one single cel l has the potential todevelop into a compiete new organism. The samemay happen from the amputated part of a primitiveanimal or from a twig of a plant. In higher animalsand human beings this tot ipotency of the part maynot lead to the Seneration of a new individual, but isexpressed in the potential for a healing regenerationof the organism as we have discovered in cl inical

The aim of this strategy is not to killthe cancer cel ls, but to jnf luence them in ways thatwill further their development and differentiationbeyond the moruJa stage of embryonicdevelopment. To this purpose he proposes the use ofdifferent remedies (hormones, phytohormones,organ extracts, embryonjc extracts, Chinese herbalmedicines and Chinese medicines {rom loweranimals) which promote cell dif ferentiat ion,in combination with SMS bio-hoJogfaphicacupuncture,At The International Congress of ECIWO Biology in

Singapore 1990 a few cases of cancer treated bybio-holographic acuplrncture were presented. Thelargest Sroup was from Zhu Xizhang ef a/. of theWorker's Hospital, Liaocheng District and Thelnstitute of ECIWO Biology of Shandong University.Of the 2,000 cases they had treated wjrh bioholo8raphic acupunctlrre there were 16 cases ofbenign and malignant tumors. As regards thetherapeutic effect, they write:"On the one hand, the method can inhibit the

pain, vomit and hiccup, increase appetite, andalleviate the symptoms for cancers at the laterstages, the curative effect is quick and reliable, theremission rate of symptoms was 100yo; on the otherhand, after tteatment, some tumors, especiallybenign tumors, apparently reduced." that we have in Norway so far supports these obser-vations. The symptomatic effect and improvement inwell being of even neaFterminal cases of metastaticcancer with SMS bio-holographic acupuncture isastounding (provided the patient is not on cytotoxicmedication). Apparently also the cancer may reducein size and, possibly, in malignancy.In view of the lack of material and of long{erm

In his address to this congress HuXiming, Vice-Minister of Public Health of thePeople's Republic of China and Director of StateAdministfat ion of Tradit ional Chinese Medicine,stated:"The founding of the ECIWO theory and ECIWObiology is one of the most impoftant events in thehistory of biology in this century. It will brin] abouta conceptual change in our uncle$tanding of theoryanism. lt will exert an important influence uponthe development of biology and medicine,especially upon the modernization of traclitionalmedicine such as ftaditional Chinese Medicine. ........ Today ECIWO biology is widely applied tomedicine, zoology, botany, Chinese herlcal

medicine, hotticulture, palaeontologv cancer studyand some other realms. ... More than Bo kinds ofdiseases in 20,000 cases have been trcated and therate of effectiveness is over 90/o.
