What is an –ER Verb ?
An –ER verb is a ‘doing word’ that ends in –ER.
Eg: acheter to buyaimer to likeécouter to listenhabiter to live
How do you form the present tense of –ER verbs?
It is very easy!
All you need to do is remember 5 easy steps...
STEP 1
Chose you –ER verb and write it down:
DANSER(to dance)
STEP 2
Take off the –ER ending.
You are left with THE STEM.
‘DANS’ (this is your stem)
STEP 3
Write the 9 subjects of your verb:

STEP 4
Write the stem next to your 9 subjects:

Write the present tense endings at the end of the stem.
