Restaurant de Jonge Dikkert
In the monumental
windmill 'De Jonge
Dikkert' a
contemporary and
informal restaurant has
been established. This
formal sawmill dates
back to 1672 and the
restaurant has a
relaxed, modern and
hip ambiance.
The cuisine is French
oriented and the Chef
buys his products
daily, fresh from the
market. The interior
was renovated in 2006
using the talent and
skills of top Dutch
interior designer Jan
des Bouvri.
Restaurant Haesje Claes
An Informal Dutch restaurant in the city centre of Amsterdam, well known for its excellent steak dinners, traditional cuisine and friendly ambiance.
The restaurant is named after Lady Haesje Claes, born in 1520 into a prosperous merchant family. She was founder and patron of the Public Orphanage, now the Amsterdam Historical Museum. The spirit and period atmosphere linger throughout the old Dutch chambers where typical Dutch dishes are now served.
