FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CONTACT: Asiaha Butler 866-845-1032  [email protected] February 13, 2012 Englewood Parent Empowerment Series in Full Effect! “We have to stay in front of the curve, because unfortunately Englewood  maybe faced with school actions again next year…”  The Englewood Community Action Council (CAC) kicked off their first Englewood Education Empowerment Summit, back in January at Wentworth Elementary sch ool located at 6950 S. Sangamon. Parents, educators, community activists and students were in attendance ready to network and share best practices. Attendees were greeted with the sounds of Dj Dap Deluxx (founding member of the Resident Association of Greater Englewood also known as R.A.G.E.) who set the tone for a fun-filled learning experience. This kick-off was the beginning to the Englewood Parent Empowerment Series which is a schedule of various workshops catered to parents of the Greater Englewood neighb orhood. The Englewood CAC is in full swing as they immediately moved into the implementation phase of se veral goals outlined in their Educational Strategic Plan, “We have to stay in front of the curve, because unfortunately Englewood maybe faced with school actions again next year”, says Latesha Dickerson, Educator and Co-Chair of the Englewood CAC. All Englewood parents, guardians, grandparents, community leaders are welcome to attend and invite a friend or neighbor. Englewood Parent Empowerment Series in Full Effect!

“We have to stay in front of the curve, because unfortunately Englewood  

maybe faced with school actions again next year…”  

The Englewood Community Action Council (CAC) kicked off their first Englewood Education Empowerment

Summit, back in January at Wentworth Elementary school located at 6950 S. Sangamon. Parents, educators,

community activists and students were in attendance ready to network and share best practices. Attendees were
