Routes is the premier event for airlines and airports working together to sustain and develop air services; from The World Route Development Forum in September to the Regional Events held earlier in the year. At Routes Regional Asia, airports and airlines meet and do business, focusing especially on the Asia Pacific market.

Building on the achievement of last year’s event, when a record number of new opportunities were discussed, the 7th Routes Regional Asia will be hosted by GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd. Opened on 23rd March 2008, Hyderabad is India’s first world class airport and, with its central location, will be a future hub for the subcontinent. This, together with the incredibly dynamic Indian airline and airport scene, also makes Hyderabad the ideal place to hold our 2009 Asia event.

With continued strong growth of air transport in the Asia Pacific region, Routes Regional Asia 2009 offers a unique platform for airlines and airports to discuss new route opportunities within a structured, pre-arranged meetings format. It has become a ‘must attend’ event for air service development professionals in the region, from the Middle East to the Pacific, from Russia to Australia.

Air service development is now a partnership between airlines and airports, which more than ever need to share market information and ideas. Delegates can expect unlimited networking opportunities over the three days of the event including the formal and informal meetings, a Welcome Reception, Networking Lunches, a Gala Dinner and the many Refreshment Breaks. There will also be a free route development conference on the Sunday.

HOW DOES ROUTES REGIONAL ASIA WORK?

Routes Regional Asia has three key elements:

1. The Formal Networking

Asia Pacific airports and airline delegates meet privately to discuss new market opportunities and route recovery programmes at pre-scheduled face-to-face meetings.

They are arranged prior to the event based, as far as possible, on delegate requests and a Personal Diary is issued on arrival.

2. The Informal Networking

Routes Regional Asia is designed to ensure all delegates are able to network to the maximum. This is facilitated through.

- An Extra Meeting System that allows all delegates, during the event itself, to request meetings with any other delegate.

- The Hospitality Programme, which includes the Welcome Reception, the Gala Dinner, the Lunches and the Refreshment Breaks during the working days.

3. The Conference

Routes Regional Asia will host a FREE conference on the Sunday afternoon which will address topical industry issues for the Asia Pacific region; further details can be found on our website www.routesonline.com.

Airport Delegates

For airport delegates wishing to secure and maintain routes with airlines in the Asia Pacific, Routes Regional Asia will offer a targeted and effective networking environment in which to achieve this. Airports may request meetings from our list of invited airlines.

These airport delegates should have responsibility for business development, especially for their airline route network. They should be able to discuss the market potential of their airport, and ideally be able to support any proposed new route with specific data relative to their market.

The scheduling of the airline meetings is carried out in strict order of delegate registration, so register NOW to take advantage of a priority position when the scheduling process begins.

Supplier/Observer Delegates

Industry consultants/observers wishing to make contact with airlines and airports are also welcome at Routes Regional Asia. They will have access to all areas of the event and will provide a range of services and skills to both airlines and airports. This may range from the supply of data, software and consultancy services to the sale of new aircraft. In addition, Tourism Authorities may wish to showcase their region by taking an exhibition space or a sponsorship item for a truly high impact presence.

Attendees have the enormous responsibility for the sustaining and the development of new routes to, from and within the Asia Pacific region. Airports can help with your network planning by providing key information such as catchment area characteristics, traffic forecasts, competitive pricing arrangements and, often full route viability studies. Routes Regional Asia also provides airlines with the opportunity to review the performance of existing routes and to discuss the levels of capacity presently offered, together with any marketing support opportunities that may be available in the region.

GMR Group has been awarded the mandate with Fraport AG, Frankfurt Airport Services Worldwide and the India Development Fund for the restructuring and modernisation of Delhi airport.

THE EVENT PROGRAMMENow in its 7th year Routes Regional Asia has become the recognised forum for air service development professionals within the region. Whilst the core of the event remains the one to one meetings between airports and airlines on the Monday and Tuesday, to offer added value to our delegates we will be holding an afternoon conference on Sunday 29th March, between 1400 – 1700 at the event venue. Participation in this conference is open to all delegates at no additional charge.

This conference will be conducted in Chinese and English with simultaneous translation.

In response to delegate demand, and the success of previous events, the programme has been expanded offering more pre-scheduled opportunities between airlines and airports.
