Preface:
I am very excited and a little confused!
My school e-story
An e-book . . .is an e-text that forms the digital media equivalent of a conventional printed book, sometimes restricted with a digital rights management system. An e-book, as defined by the Oxford Dictionary of English, is “an electronic version of a printed book which can be read on a personal computer or hand-held device designed specifically for this purpose.”[1]

Chapter 3: Web-based nonfiction and reference and curricular stuff
True catalog confession:
I am very confused.
How am I supposed to catalog all that stuff coming from all those sources—free and not so free—and is my catalog where they are really going to start? And will my decisions need to be vendor-specific?
Essential e-question:

But what if I don’t order my books from Folle"?
Will these books load in catalogs other than Destiny?
Can I load these On my Kindles, Nooks, iPads, etc?
Chapter 4:
Essential Question: How can I get students to the e-stuff they need?

Chapter 5:
Goin’ mobile
Afterward: True e-confession:
I am confused.
What happens when the container fades?
Essential questions: Will the future be vendor/platform driven?
Will librarians and users have a voice in the direction?
Chapter 6:
This is a tipping point. (And we need a voice, a seat at the table.)

Nine-‐year-‐olds currently exist who will recall, years from now, the first *me they read "Charlo"e's Web" on their iPads, and I'm going to have to let that go. For me, there's just s*ll something universal about ink on paper, the dog-‐earing of yellowed pages, the loans to friends, the discovery of a rela*ve's secret universe of interests via the pile on their nightstand. And it's not really hyperbole to say it makes me feel disconnected from humanity to imagine these rituals funneled into copy/paste func*ons, annotated files on a screen that could, poten*ally, crash.
