Boston to Monrovia in August • Academic consorIum supporIng health educaIon in Liberia raised funds for PPE to support hospitals.
• The freight forwarder collected pallets on August 18. • As of August 25, most passenger airlines had cancelled service to Liberia. Our pallets were si^ng at JFK airport.
• Finally, our forwarder booked space in early September on Brussels Airlines a_er they re-‐established operaIons.

BriIsh Air: All routes suspended to Sierra Leone and Liberia on August 5. Gambia Bird: Suspended routes to Sierra Leone and Liberia on August 15. Kenya Airways: Suspended commercial flights to Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone on August 19. Brussels Airlines: Cancelled flights to Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia beginning August 23.

UNICEF shipped 1,000 metric tonnes of life-‐saving supplies for children caught in the world’s most urgent crises -‐-‐ the largest emergency supply operaIon in the organizaIon’s history in a single month. The amount delivered would fill 19 cargo jumbo jets.
Liberia’s effort to contain the Ebola outbreak has been strengthened by 248 MT of supplies from UNICEF such as latex gloves, safety goggles, and overalls to protect health workers, concentrated chlorine disinfectant and a range of essenIal medicines.

• PPE stockpiling may lead to manufacturing constraints and resource misalignment.
