The Kingdom of Cambodia is the oldest country in Southeast Asia of the Indochina

Peninsula, which has a well-known civilization and culture. It was divided into 13 important

Cambodia has an area of 181,035 square kilometers, which is divided into 23

provinces, 26 towns and 1 capital (Phnom Penh) and it has 9 Khans, 159 districts, 204

Sangkats, 1,417 communes, and 14,073 villages (General Population Census of Cambodia,

2008). The total population is about 14 million with a density of 77 people per square

kilometer, and is bordered by Vietnam to the east and the south, Thailand to the west and

the north, Laos to the north, and the Gulf of Thailand to the southwest.

Cambodia is located in the tropical zone with wet and dry climate, so there are two

seasons; the rainy and dry season. The dry season starts from November to April, which has 0 0temperature between 24 C-33 C; and the rainy season starts from May to October, which

0 0has temperature between 18 C-30 C. The coldest month is January and the hottest is April.

The annual rainfall is between 100 and 150 centimeters.

Cambodia is one of the 10 members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations

(ASEAN).

STATE MANAGEMENT

Cambodia is divided into 4 main institutions: the Royalty Institution, Legislative Body,

Executive Body, and Judicial Institution. It implements the policy of multi-party freedom

and democracy with 5-year terms per election. Elections include Non-General and General

election. Non-General election is the Commune/Sangkat council election, which is elected

by people. Members of the Commune/Sangkat council who win have the right to vote for

members of the Senate; and General election is the National Assembly Election, which is

elected by people. Members of the National Assembly who win have the right to form the

government.

- The Royalty Institution: The king reigns, but he does not govern, and he shall be

chosen by nine members of the throne council: they are the president of the Senate, the

president of the National Assembly, the Prime Minister, two monks of highest positions

(Samdech Sangs of Mohanikay and Thamayuth), both vice-presidents of the Senate and

both vice-presidents of the National Assembly. The king, who is crowned, has to be at least

30 years up and descended from the lineage of the king of Ang Doung, Norodom, and

Sisowath.

- Legislative Body: It includes the Senate with 63 seats and the national assembly

with 123 seats which are formed by general election and non-general election.

- Executive Body: It is led by the Royal Government of Cambodia, which is elected by

national assembly for each term with 50%+1 vote, and the government has to implement

according to the constitution which the national assembly has approved. The Royal

Government has a Cabinet of the Prime Minister (Peace Building), a council of ministers

(Friendship Building), 25 ministries, 11 national authorities, 2 Secretaries of State, which

are under its supervision.

- Judicial Institution: It is in charge of the administration of justice, including

provincial-municipal courts or first instance court, court of appeal, Supreme Court; and

the supreme council of the Magistracy, which is chaired by the king, who has the right to

pardon criminals.

THE GROSS DOMESTIC PRODUCT (GDP): 7% of 2011 GDP of Cambodia was derived from

important sectors as follows:

- Real Estate and Construction Sector: During these few years, the real estate and

construction sector such as land and housing developments and different construction

activities are increasing at a surprising rate. There are many grand hotels, high buildings

for lease or sale, and there are many companies which have bought the land to develop into

a city in which there are many apartments for sale with reasonable prices in a commercial

area so that people can afford them. Those cities and provinces are growing rapidly.

- Commercial Sector: The commercial sector includes the export of the clothes to

the international markets including the USA, European Union and other agricultural

products such as rubbers, rice and cassavas and the import of construction equipment,

steel, cement, vehicles and other equipment.

- Industrial Sector: The industrial sector consists of the investment in garment

industry with about 300 factories and 400,000 workers and the petroleum discovered in the

sea and the hydropower in Kamchay mountain, Kirirom mountain and Stung Tatai.

- Agricultural Sector: It is with 80% of the population being farmers, they grow rice,

crops, plantations, and there are concessions and preservation of forests which are

habitats of wild animals and the capture of rainfalls. In fisheries, there are fresh water

fishing, marine fishing and aquaculture.

- Transportation Sector: It is divided into land routes, waterways, and airways.

Land Routes: There are seven national roads which link Phnom Penh city to

other provinces or cities which stretch a total of 38,257 km with two overhead bridges,

(Monivong and 7 Makara), Monivong twin bridge, Chroy Chongvar bridge, Prek Phnov

bridge, Prek Kdam Bridge, Prek Tamak Bridge, Kisona Bridge, Se Kong bridge (Stung Treng),

Neak Loeung bridge, and the bridges that span across the sea (Koh Kong and Sihanoukville).

Waterways: The network of waterways includes Mekong River and Tonle Sap

Lake till the sea, and there are Phnom Penh Port, Krong Preah Sihanouk Port and Krong

Kampot Port.

Airways: There are Phnom Penh International Airport, Siem Reap International

Airport, and Preah Sihanouk Airport.

- Economical and Financial Sector: The Riel is the national currency and there are

other foreign currencies in use in the market such as US Dollars, Euros, Thai Baht, and

Japanese Yen. (USD 1 ~ 4,000 Riels).

- Educational Sector: There are public and private institutions from primary to higher

education institutions with 11,046 public schools, which include 97 higher institutions

consisting of 38 public and 59 private institutions, with a total of 3,500,000 students for the

academic year 2012-2013.

- Tourism Sector: Cambodia is rich in tourism, cultural, and historical sites such as

Angkor Wat Temples, Preah Vihear Temple, which are registered as world heritage sites,

and natural resorts such as Kirirom, Bokor Mountain, Kulen Mountain; habitats for wild

animals at Tonle Sap, inundated forests, waterfalls, sea beaches such as Kep, Koh Kong

(mangroves), Preah Sihanouk Bay which is recognized as a member of the most beautiful

bays in the world club.

CULTURE AND ARTS include Apsara dancing, Dance of Royal wealth, and grand shadow

puppet dancing which are recognized as world cultural abstractive heritage. In addition,

there are many carvings on temples and other sculptures which describe ancient legends

and deities for different eras.

RELIGION: There are three main religions practiced including Buddhism, which is the state

religion with 90% of the population as followers, with 4,392 pagodas. There are a total of

50,000 Buddhist monks. 6% of the populations are Christians and 4% are Muslims.

DAY 1 : PHNOM PENH ARRIVAL [-/L/D]

AM : Your arrival at the Phnom Penh International Airport is

welcomed by our guides with nice vehicles. And then

you are picked up for visiting Wat Phnom. After that you

are transferred to the Hotel for Check-In.

PM : Visit Independent Monument (The Monument was built

for commemorates the end of Cambodia ruled by

France in 1953), the Royal Palace (the royal residence

of the king of Cambodia), the Silver Pagoda. Visit the

Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum (S21) and shopping at the

Russian market. Have dinner at the local restaurant.

Stay overnight at the hotel.

DAY 2 : PHNOM PENH - SIEM REAP [B/L/D]

AM : After having breakfast, transfer to the local port for

departing to Siem Reap, the Ancient City. Check-In at

the hotel upon arrival.

PM : Visit the Cambodian Cultural Village (A unique,

sprawling new cultural attraction in Siem Reap,

intended to introduce the visitor to Cambodian culture

and history. Wax museum with scenes and figures from

history. Fascinating 1/20 scale models of sites such as

Phsar Thmey, the Royal Palace in Phnom Penh, the hills

and temples of Oudong. Full scale models of a variety

of Cambodian architectural types, including different styles of huts and homes, hill tribe

houses, pagoda and mosque. Live shows, traditional dance performances and music.

DAY 3 : ANGKOR CLASSIC TOURS [B/L/D]

AM : After having breakfast, visit Angkor Thom (This last

it served as the religious and administrative center of

the vast and powerful Khmer Empire. It was grander

than some cities in Europe at that time and have

supported a considerable population as high as one

million within Angkor Thom are Bayon the giant stone

faces of Bayon have become one of the most

recognizable images connected to classic Khmer art

and architecture. There are 49 standing towers, most

but not all sporting four carved faces oriented toward the cardinal points), Baphoun, the

PM : Visit the Great Lake (Tonle Sap Lake), which is one of

the great lakes in Indochina. Cruise from 1 to 2 hours to

see the Floating villages in order to find out the

differences between these villagers' lifestyles and the

ones of the other parts of the world. Return to Siem

Reap town. Visit Artisans D’Angkor (the place is in the

Ministry of Education that was constructed in 1992, this place renowned woodworking, stone

carving and polychrome training center and workshops. Free tour of different classes and

workshops offer a glimpse into the unique skills training program, teaching young artists about

the techniques and styles of classic Cambodian Artistry). Have buffet dinner at the restaurant

lingas. Lingas stand into the riverbed of the Siem Reap River. It was believed that the lingas

spiritually "fertilized" the waters that fed the Eastern bay and irrigated the rice fields).

PM : After having lunch, visit Banteay Srei and Banteay Samre. Return to Siem Reap. Have buffet

dinner at the restaurant with Apsara Dance Show. Stay overnight at the hotel.

AM : After having breakfast, continue to visit the great view

of the country side and the famous Sambor Prei Kuk,

which the ancient capital of Chenla with its 140 temples

dating back to the Pre-Angkorian period. Continue the

trip to Siem Reap province. Check-In upon arrival and

lunch at the local restaurant.

PM : Visit the Great Lake (Tonle Sap Lake), which is one of the

Day 5 : SIEM REAP – KULEN THE HOLY MOUNTAIN [B/L/D]

thousands of carvings engraved into the rocks under the water. Also visit the Rock temple with a

large reclining Buddha.

PM : Depart from the holy mountain to the oldest temple in Angkor, Banteay Srei and Banteay Samre.

PM : Depart to visit the wide Chhay Khpos and Steung Chhay

Chrey then continue to enjoy the view of sunset at Ta

Ngol mountain. Return to homestay and enjoy dinner.

Stay overnight at Chi Phat homestay.

Day 3 : CHI PHAT [B/L/D]

AM : Breakfast at homestay. Ride a bicycle to visit the mystical ancient burial jars and small wooden

coffins.

PM : Lunch at a nice river about 300m from the jar place. Ride back to Chi Phat and stop over on the

way to see Teuk Vet (Curve River) waterfall. Return to Chi Phat homestay and have dinner. Stay

overnight at the homestay.

Day 4 : CHI PHAT – PREAH SIHANOUK [B/L/-]

AM : After having breakfast, depart to Preah Sihanouk

through the countryside; it takes about 3 hours with

the enjoyment of the wonderful natural view of

mountains, forest and valley along the road which are

unforgettable journey.

PM : Free at leisure then enjoy the sunset along the coast. It

is the perfect ending of the day with the natural view

and get fresh sea breeze. Stay overnight in Preah

Sihanouk.

Day 5 : PREAH SIHANOUK - PHNOM PENH - DEPARTURE [B/L/-]

AM : Free at leisure, enjoy swimming with the beautiful

beach, tranquil water, and sunbathing along white

sandy beach.

PM : Arrived Phnom Penh then transfer to the airport for

next destination.

DAY 1 : CHAM YEAM BORDER [-/L/-]

AM : Upon arrival at Cham Yeam border & Hat Lek district Thailand, Your arrival is welcomed by our

guides with nice vehicles then transfer to Check-In at Koh Kong Resort

PM : Free at leisure at Koh Kong Resort & Casino. Stay overnight at the hotel.

DAY 2 : DEPARTURE – PHNOM PENH [B/L/D]

AM : After having breakfast at the hotel, transferred to

Phnom Penh and have lunch at PINIC Resort.

PM : Continue to Phnom Penh, Check-In upon arrival and

visit Tuol Sleng Museum of Genocide (S21) then

shopping at the Russian Market, a lively outdoor market

where carvings, as well as T-shirt, CDs and other

souvenirs. Stay overnight at the hotel.

DAY 3 : PHNOM PENH – SIEM REAP [B/L/D]

AM : Visit the Royal Palace (the royal residence of the king of

Cambodia), the Silver Pagoda, the National Museum of

Fine Arts (it is next to the Royal Palace which was

dedicated by King Sisowath in 1920). Have lunch at the

local restaurant then transfer to Siem Reap.

PM : Continue to Siem Reap, Check-In at the hotel upon

arrival and watch sunset from Phnom Bakheng. Have

buffet dinner at the restaurant with Apsara Dance


Day 4 : SIEM REAP – BANTEAY SREI [B/L/D]thAM : Visit a nice Banteay Srei temple, built in the late 10


Banteay Samre, and Ta Prohm temples.

PM : Visit Bayon Complex Temple afterwards visits Angkor

Wat (Angkor Wat is visually, architecturally and

artistically breathtaking. It is a massive three-tiered

pyramid crowned by five lotuses like towers rising 65

meters from the ground level. Angkor Wat is the center

piece of any visitor to the temples of Angkor). Have

buffet dinner at the restaurant with Apsara Dance


Day 5 : SIEM REAP CITY – DEPARTURE [B/-/-]

AM : After having breakfast, shopping at the old market to

explore some souvenirs for friends and family then

transfer to Poi Pet Cambodia and Thailand border, pass

Poi Pet immigration and across to Thailand side.
