Brothers & Co-Workers,
We need your help!! We are looking for new recruits to help with Wednesday lunches and Monday night dinners. We have become reliant on the same few people for these meals and we’d like to see some fresh faces step up to take one meal per month. Training will be provided. If you’ve ever thought of helping out in the lodge kitchen, now is the time to speak up! Please contact my wife, Kris Bortz for more information.
I am also looking for someone with sheetrock experience who can help with a couple of small repairs around the Lodge. If you can help, or know someone who can, please call me at 209-890-3813.
Our BINGO Program will resume April 1st. Volunteers to help with Wednesday night games are NEEDED! Please consider helping support this important program. Contact Kurt Kraal at 650-255-0219 for more information.
As we roll into March, we are planning many Springtime events. On March 7, the Women of the Moose are hosting the second annual Crab Feed—this event is sold out. However, grilled shrimp skewers will be available for purchase by all members from 3 to 5 p.m. On March 14, we’re holding a “Farewell Dinner” in honor of Scott and Diane Freier to thank them for all of their hard work and dedication to our Lodge over the past five plus years. A sign-up sheet is posted in the lobby. Finally, on March 28, the Moose Legion is hosting a First Responders Dinner. First responders and their families eat FREE. Members are also welcome to sign up for this Tri-tip dinner for only $9. Desserts will be provided by the Women of the Moose. Please join us to thank our local heroes!
Bull Moose of the Month:
Bull Moose of the Month is Scott Lemon. Scott has pulled off another great event with his wife, Beth and a great crew of volunteers to organize and serve a memorable Crab Feed benefiting the Moose Legion. Scott, I thank you and appreciate all that you do for our Lodge.
Our Lodge needs you! Please come out and support!
Fraternally Yours,
Damon Bortz Governor 209-890-3813
GOVERNOR’S
MESSAGE

Brothers and Co-workers,
We are very close to achieving a Premiere Lodge Award this year. The last time we received a Premiere Lodge
Award was 2013. The one item that could deny us this highest award possible for a lodge, is failing to increase our
membership by just one member over the previous year. We closed out last year with 504 members. That means
we need to have at least 505 LOOM members on April 30th. We are currently at 535, however, we have 74
members who will expire on March 31, 2020 which would will bring us down to 461. Be sure to take a look at
your membership card. If your membership expires by March 31, 2020 please, please, please renew your dues as
soon as possible! Don’t put it off, renew now! We have worked very hard all year to meet all requirements for
this award and it would be a shame to miss it because of late dues renewals.
Reminder - The 2020-2021 Board of Officer Elections are coming. Any member in good standing desiring to run
for an elective office must submit his name by way of an “Intent to Run” form to the Nominating Committee by
March 17th. The form is available behind the bar, along with a list of responsibilities for each Office. Place the
completed form in the mail slot on the Administrator’s office door.
As of this writing, we are heading off to the California/Nevada Moose Association 86th Mid-Year Conference in
Buena Park, California. One of the many sessions will focus on “One Moose,” the membership unification of the
LOOM and WOTM. One Moose is also the main feature in the February/March 2020 Moose
magazine distributed by Moose International, which I encourage everyone to read. Our Lodge is planning to
complete the unification process by May 2021, so stay tuned!
Get Involved! Fraternally,
Bill Kislingbury, Administrator

Senior Regent’s Update
Hello Brothers and Co-workers,
Welcome to the month of March! Who would of thought that we would be raking needles in February? Let’s hope for some Spring rain soon. The WOTM will be voting for new officer’s on Tuesday March 17. There are still several board positions open. If you would like to know more about these opportunities please contact myself or Patti Corcoran, our phone numbers are in the bulletin.
A big thank you to the crew that helped with the five-course dinner on Saturday, February 15th; Lisa and Doug Herman, Shar Peterson, Mary Ann Fabian, Joe Salvato, Patti Corcoran, Rodney Korbelik and Jack Shaffer. The dinner was also a surprise party for Chaz Armstrong’s 80th birthday. Family and friends attended to make this a very special night.
The WOTM crab feed on March 7th is sold out. A big thank you for your support! We will be selling grilled shrimp appetizers prior to the dinner from 3 to 5 p.m. and all are welcome. We will have a raffle with twelve gift baskets to choose from and an “opportunity” drawing (aka 50/50). It is sure to be a fun time!
The Moose Legion is sponsoring a First Responders dinner on Saturday, March 28. The WOTM will decorate for the event and provide dessert. The menu and time are listed on the March event calendar and a sign-up sheet is posted in the lobby. Our First Responders are vital to our community, so we hope you can come out and show your support.
A brief look ahead at the WOTM April schedule is as follows: Saturday, April 4, is our annual Children’s Easter Party from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, April 18, is New Member Orientation at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 25, is the WOTM New Officer Installation at 10 a.m. Hope to see you there!
Our Co-Worker of the month is Shar Peterson. Shar is currently in the position of Guide for the WOTM. Shar has been a great member of our kitchen crew, helping with several large dinners last month. Shar, thank you for being there, and always with a smile on your face!

they are great and wonderful” - Albert Einstein
