Configuration

Dependingonthefiltrationtask,thefilterpackismadeupoffeedplates,filtrateplates,orcakeframes.BECOdepthfiltersheetsareinsertedbe-tweenthefilterelementsandcompressed.

Forsheet filtration,afeedplate,aBECOdepthfiltersheetandafiltrateplateareusedalternately.

Forcake filtration,thefilterpackconsistsofacombinationofcakeframe,filtrateplate,andanintermediateBECOdepthfiltersheet.Thecakeframeisusedforholdingthesolids.

Forstep filtration,abaffleplateenablestwo-stagesheetfiltrationorprimaryprecoatfiltrationfollowedbysecondarysheetfiltration.

ThefilterelementsaredesignedtoensuresecureinsertionoftheBECOdepthfil-tersheet.Supportrodsbelowthefilterpackarethereforenotrequired.

Theproductchannelsofthefil-terelementsaresealedviatheBECOdepthfiltersheet;noadditionalgasketsarerequired.ThisensuresthatonlythefilterelementandtheBECOdepthfiltersheetareincontactwiththeproduct.

Sheet filtration

Thematerialtobefilteredisfedintotwodistributionchan-nelsofthefilterpackviatheriser.Thesedistributetheliq-uidviaopeningsintothefeedplates/cakeframes.ThefluidtobefilteredflowsthroughtheBECOdepthfiltersheet.Particlesandcolloidsareseparated.Thefiltrateisfedtothecollectionchannelsviathefiltrateplatesandflowstothefilteroutletviatheriserpipe.

Cake filtration

Theunfilteredfiltratewithhighparticleconcentrationtobefilteredisfedintothetwodis-tributionchannelsviatheriser.Thesedistributethematerialtobefilteredandthesolidsintothecakeframesviathesupplychannels.Solidsandliquidareseparatedbythedepthfiltermedium.Duringthefiltrationcycle,thesolidsbuildupacakeattheBECOdepthfiltersheet.Theliquidisclarifiedduringthisprocess.Thefiltrateisfedtothecollec-tionchannelsviathefiltrateplatesandflowstothefilteroutletviatheriserpipe.

Thebaffleplatecanbeusedtoseparatethefilterintotwoareas.Thisenablestwo-stagesheetfiltrationorprimarycakefiltrationfollowedbysecond-arysheetfiltration.
