StreetSmart SA has been in operation since June 2005. All the funds raised in restaurants, accommodation establishments and wine tasting venues, go to selected and approved organisations that run programmes for the normalisation of street and vulnerable children. The StreetSmart establishments in each town/city raise funds for their own community programmes.

DONATING AT A STREETSMART ESTABLISHMENT IS THE RESPONSIBLE WAY TO HELP A STREET CHILD.

StreetSmart’s success is due to the restaurants, accommodation establishments and wine tasting venues, who have embraced the initiative, but also because the patrons of these establishments see StreetSmart as an ideal way to contribute to an issue that needs attention. The beauty of the StreetSmart program is its simplicity. In a StreetSmart establishment a small elegant card informs patrons that a voluntary R5 will be added to the bill. If donors would like to add more – or none at all, they just need to inform their waiter or host.
