IntroducingEasykonTM

EasykonTMforKNXisanelectronicDINrailcasedevicethatallowstheuseApple,Google and Amazon apps and vocal assistants, locally and remotely to control KNX systems.

With EasykonTM sensors, thermostats, actuators, or any other KNX devices, can be controlled easily and securely using the features provided by the Apps and Voice AssistantsfromApple,GoogleandAmazon.Yoursystemwillbemorepowerfulthanever,controllingyourdeviceswhenyouarenotathome,managingthetemperatureofthethermostatsevenwhenyouareout,andsendingyounotificationsifthereisaleakfromyourwashingmachine.Creatingscenesandautomationsissimpleandquick,KNXandIoTdevices,workingtogether,willmakeyourlifemorecomfortable,andmakeitpossibleforyoutocustomiseasmartcontrolofyourhomeexactlyasyouwant.

Installation

Requirements

To install EasykonTM for KNX you need:

• 12/24VAC/DCpowersupply.

• Bus KNX connection.

• LAN connection.

We recomend you to use the services of a professional to install and configureEasykonforKNX.

ImportantBefore installing EasykonTMforKNX,remembertoturnoffthepowertothesystem.

InstallingEasykonTM for KNX

To install EasykonTMfollowthestepsbelow:

• Attach it to the DIN rail.

• ConnectittoarouterwiththeDHCPserviceenabled.

• ConnecttheKNXtwistedpaircable.

• Connectthe12/24VAC/DCpowersupply.

As soon as all these operations have been

completed,turnthepowertoyoursystem

back on. The status light on the front of

EasykonTM willremainredforabout30seconds

(start-up phase) before turning a solid blue.

Whatthestatuslightcoloursmean

On the front of your EasykonTMforKNXtthereisastatuslightthatshowsthefollowingcolours:

• Solid blue: system ready.

• Flashing blue: system in reset or unpairing phase.

• Fixedmagenta:noconnectionwiththeKNXbus.

• Flashing magenta: no Internet connection.

• Solid red: system in start-up phase or presence of a fault.

• Flashing red: Ethernet cable disconnected or faulty.

Pairing

Pair EasykonTMforKNXtoyourFreedomproaccountallowsyoutomanageyourproductinaquickandeasyway.

Ifyoudon’thaveaFreedomproaccount,gototheFreedomproCloudloginpage(http://home.freedompro.eu)anduseyourGoogleorFacebookprofiletosetupyoursecure,newFreedomproaccount.

To pair EasykonTMforKNXtoyouraccount,accessyourprofile,clickon“Addnewdevice”andwaitforyourproducttobecomevisibletoyourlocalnetwork.

Selectthedeviceyouwanttopairandenterthe8-digitpairingcodethatyoufindprinted on the label or inside the package.

Unpairing

TheunpairingprocedureallowsyoutoremoveyourEasykonTM for KNX from your Freedomproprofile,fromalluserswhohavebeeninvitedtosharedevices,andfromApple,GoogleorAlexaapplications.Nouserwillthenbeabletocontrolthedevice.

Tounpair,holddownthebuttononthefrontofEasykonTM for KNX until the status light beginstoflashblue.Toregaincontroloveryoursystem,re-linkittoyourFreedomproprofile.

IfyoubecometheownerofasysteminwhichEasykonforKNXTM had already been installed,werecommendyoutoruntheunpairing procedure to prevent all those whowerepreviouslyconnectedfromcontrolling the system.

Access through the Freedompro Cloud

Logintoyourprofileandclickonthe“Settings”buttonoftheproductyouwanttoconfigure.Clickon“Accessdevice”andenterthepassword.Ifthisisthefirsttimeyouhaveloggedin,thedefaultpasswordisEasykon1.

Access by IP address

OpenyourInternetbrowser,entertheEasykonIPnumberintheaddressbar(forexamplehttp://192.168.1.2.),thenenterthepassword.Ifthisisthefirsttimeyouhaveloggedin,thedefaultpasswordisEasykon1.

Afterlogginginforthefirsttime,tokeepyoursystemsafe,werecommendthatyouchangethepassword.

Navigation Menu

From the navigation menu you can:

• Hidethecategoriesmenu.Thisfeaturegivesyouanoptimisedviewoftheentire

configurationpanel,evenwhenusingdeviceswithsmallscreens.

• Entertheconfigurationpanelsettings.Fromhereyoucanchangetheinterface

language,theloginpassword,andbackuporrestoreconfigurations.

• Disconnect from the panel.

This section is used to add or modify accessories. Select the category from the top menu to manage the related accessory.

name assigned.

Configuration

ImporttheKNXprojectfile

ToimporttheKNXprojectfile,clickontheicon andselectthe.xmlprojectfileyouwanttoimport.EasykonforKNXwillautomaticallycheckthevalidityofthefileand,ifcorrect,thenameandstructureofyourprojectwillbedisplayed.Scroll through the structure of the KNX project and drag and drop the group addres-sesintotheparameterboxesofthedevicesyouwanttoconfigure.

Add an accessory

Toconfigureanaccessory,logintotheconfigurationpanelandselecttherightcategory in the accessories categories menu.

Inthedeviceconfigurationsection,click+,enterthenameyouwanttoassigntothisaccessory (the default name is the english name of the accessory category). The name willbeusedbytheApple,GoogleandAlexasystemstoidentifytheaccessoryusingvoice commands. You can change the name later directly from the Apple Home, Google Home or Alexa App.

After inserting the name, complete the accessory parameters. Every category has differentparameters,someofthemaremandatory,identifiedbythegreynameandtheimpossibilitytotickthecheckbox,othersareoptional,identifiedbythewhitetextand to the possibility to tick the check box.

Inthefollowingpages,youwillsee,indetail,allnEasykonTM for KNX accessories set up.

Howtosetupalightaccessory

With EasykonTMyouareabletotransformyourlightsinsmartandcontrolthemwiththesmartphone,oryourvoice.Ifyourlightbulballowsit,youwillbeablenotonlytoswitchitonandoffbutalsochangethebrightness,colourandsaturationoflighting.

WIthAppleHome,GoogleHomeeAlexa,itwillbeeasytocreatescenes,automationsandroutinestoturnon,offormodifyoneormorelightssettingswithjustonecommand,ormaketheminteractwithotheraccessories.

ToaddaLightaccessory,fromtheaccessoriescategoriesmenu,select“Light”andclickon +.

Tosetupthelight,firstofall,enterthenamethatidentifiestheaccessoryfortheappsanddigitalassistantsandthencompletetheparameterswiththegroupaddressesthatallowEasykonTMtocommunicatewiththelight.

Alilghraccessoryhasthefollowingparameters:


• On/Off (1 Bit): it is the only mandatory parameter and is used to control the on/off function.ItusestwoCommandandStatusgroupaddresses.

• Brightness (1 Byte): an optional parameter (only dimmerable lightbulbs have it) that allowsyoutovarytheintensityofthelight.ItusestwoCommandandStatusgroupaddresses.

• Saturation(1Byte):anoptionalparameter,thatonlyllightbulbsthatallowchangingthesaturationhave,thatallowsyoutovarythecoloursaturationofthelight.ItusestwoCommandandStatusgroupaddresses.

• Colour(1Byte):anoptionalparameter,thatonlythelightbulbsthatallowchangingthelightcolourhave,thatallowsyoutovarythecolourofthelight(thelightcanbeanycolouryouwant).ItusestwoCommandandStatusgroupaddresses.

If you already imported the KNX project of your system, it is possible to drag and drop group addresses of the light directly from the import area. If you have not imported theprojector,ifyouwanttomodifythegroupaddresses,youcaninsertthenumbersonebyone,anytime,fromtheconfigurationpanel.

After inserting the name and all the necessary parameters, to complete the set up, click on save.


How to set up a Thermostat accessory

With EasykonTM you are able to transform your thermostats in smart and control them withthesmartphone,oryourvoice. WIthAppleHome,GoogleHomeeAlexa,itwillbeeasytocreatescenes,automationsand routines to change automatically the temperature in every room based on the day, thetimeoronwhoisintheroominacertainmoment.

Toaddanewthermostataccessory,fromtheaccessoriescategoriesmenu,select“Thermostat”andclickon+.

Tosetupthethermostat,firstofall,enterthenamethatidentifiestheaccessoryfortheappsanddigitalassistantsandthencompletetheparameterswiththegroupaddressesthatallowEasykonTMtocommunicatewithit.

Athermostataccessoryhasthefollowingparameters:

• Cold/Hot (1 Bit): a mandatory parameter that commands the thermostat to increase ordecreasetheambienttemperature.Itusestwogroupaddresses,onefortheStatusandonefortheCommandthatyouwanttogivetotheaccessory.

• Current temperature (2 Bytes): a mandatory parameter for providing a temperature reading. Uses only 1 address in the State group.

• Set temperature (2 Bytes): a mandatory parameter to set the temperature required. ItusestwoCommandandStatusgroupaddresses,onefortheStatusandoneforthe Command, to communicate the desired temperature.

• Unitofmeasurement(1Bit):amandatoryparameterthatallowsyoutomanagethe

unitofmeasurementsusedbythethermostat.Itusestwogroupaddresses,onefor

theStatus,tounderstandinwhichunitofmeasurementisthethermostatsetand

one for the Command, to communicate the unit meaassurement of the desired

temperature.


If you already imported the KNX project of your system, it is possible to drag and drop group addresses of the thermostat directly from the import area. If you have not importedtheprojector,ifyouwanttomodifythegroupaddresses,youcaninsertthenumbersonebyone,anytime,fromtheconfigurationpanel.



Howtosetupawindowcoveringaccessory

With EasykonTMyouareabletotransformyourwindowcoveringsinsmartandcontrolthemwiththesmartphone,oryourvoice.

WithAppleHome,GoogleHomeeAlexa,itwillbeeasytocreatescenesandautomationstochangeautomaticallytheopeningorclodingofthewindowcoveringsin the different rooms based on the time of the day.

Toaddanewwindowcoveringaccessory,fromtheaccessoriescategoriesmenu,select“Windowcovering”andclickon+.

Tosetupthewindowcovering,firstofall,enterthenamethatidentifiestheaccessoryfortheappsanddigitalassistantsandthencompletetheparameterswiththegroupaddressesthatallowEasykonTMtocommunicatewithit.

Awindowcoveringaccessoryhasthefollowingsingleparameter:

• Position (1 Byte): a mandatory parameter used to control the opening and closing of thewindowcovering.ItusestwoCommandandStatusgroupaddresses.


If you already imported the KNX project of your system, it is possible to drag and drop thegroupaddressofthewindorcoveringdirectlyfromtheimportarea.Ifyouhavenotimportedtheprojector,ifyouwanttomodifythegroupaddress,youcaninsertthenumbersonebyone,anytime,fromtheconfigurationpanel.

After inserting the name and all the necessary parameter, to complete the set up, click on save.

How to set up a switch accessory

With EasykonTM you are able to transform your KNX actuators in smart and control themwiththesmartphone,oryourvoice.Theswitchaccessoryisversatileandcanbeusedtoturnonoroffdifferentaccessoriesinthehouselikethewateringsystemorthegaragedoor.Italso,canbeconfiguredtocontrolagroupofaccessories,forexampleallthelightsofthehouseorallthewindowcoverings.

WIthAppleHome,GoogleHomeeAlexa,itwillbeeasytocreatescenes,automationsandroutinestoturnonandofftheswitchevenifyouarenotathome.

Toaddanewswitchaccessory,fromtheaccessoriescategoriesmenu,select“Switch”and click on +.

Tosetuptheswitch,firstofall,enterthenamethatidentifiestheaccessoryfortheappsanddigitalassistantsandthencompletetheparameterswiththegroupaddressesthatallowEasykonTMtocommunicatewithit.

Aswitchaccessoryhasthefollowingsingleparameter:

How to set up a fan accessory

With EasykonTMyouareabletotransformyourfansinsmartandcontrolthemwiththesmartphone, or your voice.

WithAppleHome,GoogleHomeeAlexa,itwillbeeasytocreatescenes,automationsandroutinestoactivatethefanstogetherwithotheraccessories,orautomatically,atacertaintimeofthedayorwhenthereisacertaintemperatureintheroom.

Toaddanewfanaccessory,fromtheaccessoriescategoriesmenu,select“Fan”andclick on +.

Tosetupthefan,firstofall,enterthenamethatidentifiestheaccessoryfortheappsanddigitalassistantsandthencompletetheparameterswiththegroupaddressesthatallowEasykonTMtocommunicatewithit.


Afanaccessoryhasthefollowingparameters:

• On/Off(1Bit):amandatoryparameterusedtoswitchthefanonoroff.ItusestwoCommand and Status group addresses.

• Rotation speed (1 Byte): an optional parameter used to adjust the fan speed. It uses twoCommandandStatusgroupaddresses.

If you already imported the KNX project of your system, it is possible to drag and drop group addresses of the fan directly from the import area. If you have not imported the projector,ifyouwanttomodifythegroupaddresses,youcaninsertthenumbersonebyone,anytime,fromtheconfigurationpanel.



How to set up an outlet accessory

With EasykonTM you are able to control your KNX actuators to turn on an off the supply toanoutlet,soyouwillbeabletoturnonandoffthedeviceconnectedtotheoutletwithyoursmartphone,oryourvoice.YouwillbeabletomonitoriftheoutletisinuseornotwithAppleHomekit.

Toaddanewoutletaccessory,fromtheaccessoriescategoriesmenu,select“Outlet”and click on +.

Tosetuptheoutlet,firstofall,enterthenamethatidentifiestheaccessoryfortheappsanddigitalassistantsandthencompletetheparameterswiththegroupaddressesthatallowEasykonTMtocommunicatewithit.

Anoutletaccessoryhasthefollowingparameters:

• Socket in use (1 Bit): a mandatory parameter that makes it possible to detect if the outlet is in use or not. Uses only 1 address in the State group.

• On/Off(1Bit):amandatoryparameterusedtoswitchtheoutletonoroff.ItusestwoCommand and Status group addresses.


If you already imported the KNX project of your system, it is possible to drag and drop group addresses of the outlet directly from the import area. If you have not imported theprojector,ifyouwanttomodifythegroupaddresses,youcaninsertthenumbersonebyone,anytime,fromtheconfigurationpanel.

After inserting the name and all the necessary parameters, to complete the set up,

click on save.

How to set up a contact sensor accessory

With EasykonTM you are able to control your KNX contact sensors to detect, for example, ifdoorsorwindowshavebeenopenedorclosed.

WithAppleHome,GoogleHomeeAlexa,itwillbeeasytomonitorthesensorevenwhenyouareoutsidethehouse,oryoucancreateautomationsthatallowsthesensorto activate od de-activate other accessories based on the opening or closing of the doororthewindows.

Toaddanewcontactsensoraccessory,fromtheaccessoriescategoriesmenu,select“Outlet”andclickon+.

Tosetupthecontactsensor,firstofall,enterthenamethatidentifiestheaccessoryfortheappsanddigitalassistantsandthencompletetheparameterswiththegroupaddressesthatallowEasykonTMtocommunicatewithit.

Acontactsensoraccessoryhasthefollowingsingleparameter:

• Contact sensor status (1 Bit): a mandatory parameter used to check if the sensor

detects contact or not. Uses only 1 address in the State group.


If you already imported the KNX project of your system, it is possible to drag and drop group address of the contact sensor directly from the import area. If you have not importedtheprojector,ifyouwanttomodifythegroupaddress,youcaninsertthenumbersonebyone,anytime,fromtheconfigurationpanel.

After inserting the name and all the necessary parameter, to complete the set up, click

How to set up a leak sensor accessory

With EasykonTM you are able to control your KNX leak sensors to detect, for example, a waterleakinthelaundryroom.

WithAppleHome,GoogleHomeeAlexa,itwillbeeasytomonitorthesensorevenwhenyouareoutsidethehouse,oryoucancreateautomationssothatyoucanreceiveapushnotificationifaleakisdetected.

Toaddanewleaksensoraccessory,fromtheaccessoriescategoriesmenu,select“LeakSensor” and click on +.

Tosetuptheleaksensor,firstofall,enterthenamethatidentifiestheaccessoryfortheappsanddigitalassistantsandthencompletetheparameterswiththegroupaddressesthatallowEasykonTMtocommunicatewithit.


Aleaksensoraccessoryhasthefollowingsingleparameter:

• Leakdetected(1Bit):amandatoryparameterusedtodetectifthereiswaterpresent. Uses only a single state group address.

If you already imported the KNX project of your system, it is possible to drag and drop group address of the leak sensor directly from the import area. If you have not importedtheprojector,ifyouwanttomodifythegroupaddress,youcaninsertthenumbersonebyone,anytime,fromtheconfigurationpanel.

How to set up a motion sensor accessory

With EasykonTMyouareabletocontrolyourKNXmotionsensorstodetectaperson’smovemnt in a room.

Amotionsensoraccessoryhasthefollowingsingleparameter:

• Movement detected (1 Bit): a mandatory parameter used to detect if there has been any movement. Uses only 1 address in the State group.

How to set up a smoke sensor accessory

With EasykonTM you are able to control your KNX smoke sensors to detect if there is smoke in your house.

WithAppleHome,GoogleHomeeAlexa,youwillbeabletocreateseveralautomationssothatyouwillreceivepushnotificationsorautomaticallyopenthewindowcoveringsif smoke is detected in the house.

Toaddanewsmokesensoraccessory,fromtheaccessoriescategoriesmenu,select“SmokeSensor”andclickon+.

Tosetupthesmokesensor,firstofall,enterthenamethatidentifiestheaccessoryfortheappsanddigitalassistantsandthencompletetheparameterswiththegroupaddressesthatallowEasykonTMtocommunicatewithit.

Asmokesensoraccessoryhasthefollowingsingleparameter:

• Smoke detected (1 Bit): a mandatory parameter used to signal if the sensor has detected smoke. Uses only 1 address in the State group.

How to set up a temperature sensor accessory

With EasykonTM you are able to control your KNX temperature sensors to detect the temperature of a room.

WithAppleHome,GoogleHomeeAlexa,youwillbeabletocreateseveralscenes,routines and automations so that, based on the detected temperature, your thermostatsorairconditioningwillturnonoroff.

Toaddanewtemperaturesensoraccessory,fromtheaccessoriescategoriesmenu,select“TemperatureSensor”andclickon+.

Tosetupthetemperaturesensor,firstofall,enterthenamethatidentifiestheaccessoryfortheappsanddigitalassistantsandthencompletetheparameterswiththegroupaddressesthatallowEasykonTMtocommunicatewithit.

Atemperaturesensoraccessoryhasthefollowingsingleparameter:

• Current temperature (2 Bytes): a mandatory parameter used to measure the temperature. Uses only 1 address in the State group.

OnceyouhavepairedAlexawithEasykonTM for KNX, you can manage your home simplybyspeakingorusingAmazon’sAlexaapp.Youwon’thavetouseanypre-setcommands,justspeaknormally.Moreover,themoreyouuseAlexa,thebetteritwillunderstandyourcommands,and,overtime,itwillbecomeevenmoreefficientatcarrying out your orders.

The combination of Alexa and EasykonTMforKNXwillmakeyourKNXsystemsmart.Controllingmultipledevicessimultaneouslywithgroupswillchangetheambienceofaroom,orofyourwholehome,quicklyandintuitively.CustomisingyourKNXsystemwithasinglecommandwillgiveyoumorecontroltomeetthevariedneedsofyourwholefamily.

ThankstotheinteractionbetweentheFreedomproCloudandAmazon,theapplicationandtheAlexaVoiceAssistantcanalsocontrolyourKNXsystemremotely.Youwillnotneedtopurchaseanyadditionalcomponents,setupanyparticularconfigurations,orsubscribe to any third-party services.Yourhome,throughyoursmartphone,willreceiveyourcommandsevenwhenyou’reout.Alexawillcarryoutyourordersandmonitoryourdevices,givingyoutotalcontrolof the KNX system, for increased security and comfort.

Settings

Changingtheconfigurationpanellanguage

Opentheconfigurationpanel,clickonthesettingsicon,andselect“Changelanguage”fromthemenuontheleftandfollowtheinstructions.The languages available are: Italian and English.

Changeyourpassword

Intheconfigurationpanel,clickonthesettingsiconandselect“Changepassword”fromthemenuontheleft.Followtheinstructionstocompletethepasswordchange.

Thenewpasswordmustcontainthefollowing:

• at least one uppercase character

• atleastonelowercasecharacter

• at least one numerical character

• at least one alphabetic character

• at least 8 characters

Afterchangingyourpassword,youwillneedtologinagain.

ImportantItisnotpossibletorecoverthepasswordfortheEasykonforKNXconfigurationpanel.Ifyouhaveforgottenyourpassword,youwillhavetorestore the factory settings.


Backup and restore

Backup

Thebackupfeatureallowsyoutomakeacopyofyourconfigurations.Easykon’sbackupmakesacopyofallthedevicesconfigurationandgeneratesanencrypted.easykonfile,forgreatersecurity.

ThebackupdoesnotincludeapasswordorthepreviouslyimportedKNXprojectfile.

Werecommendthatyoubackupattheendoftheconfigurationprocess.Tocreateabackup,opentheconfigurationpanel,clickonthe“Settings”icononthenavigationmenuandthenon“Backup”.

Restoringdeviceconfigurations

To restore EasykonTMforKNX,opentheconfigurationpanel,clickonthe“Settings”iconclickon“Select.easykonfile”,selectthefileonyourcomputerandclick“Import”.Allyourdeviceswillbereconfiguredbasedonthedataintherestoredbackupfile.Therestoringdoesn’teffect:

• Theconfigurationpanelpassword.

• The EasykonTMforKNXuser/owner.

• User shares.• AnypreviouspairingswithApple,Google,andAmazonAppsandVoiceAssistants.• The settings, customisations, scenes and automations on your app or activated by

your Voice Assistant.IfanapphasalreadybeenpairedwithEasykonTM for KNX, after the reset, the devices, recoveredfromthebackupfile,willbecomevisibleandbeimmediatelyreadyforuse.To use EasykonTMforKNXagainyouwillhavetopairittoaFreedomproprofile,reconfigurethedevicesandpairthemwithApple,GoogleorAlexa.


Restoring the factory settings

Restoring EasykonTMforKNXtothefactorysettingsremovesalldeviceconfigurationsandreturnsittoitsoriginalstate.Runningtherecoveryprocessyouwilldeletealldevices,preferences,passwords,theowner/user,shares,andlinkedapplications.

To restore your EasykonTMforKNXtothefactorysettings,holddowntheresetbuttonusingapinorpaperclip,untilthestatuslightstartstoflashblue.
