West Monroe is a city in Ouachita Parish, Louisiana, United States. It is situated on the Ouachita River, across from the neighboring city of Monroe. The two cities are often referred to as the Twin Cities of northeast Louisiana. Its population was 13,065 at the 2010 census and it is part of the Monroe Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Since its establishment in 1883, West Monroe has prided itself as being a safe, fiscally responsible City with a small town at-mosphere and big city amenities. Throughout the community, you’ll still find neighbors visiting after Sunday services and picnicking in the park. You’ll also find Louisiana’s first nation-ally accredited police force, major food and retail chains, and innovative programs to preserve both our environment and culture. West Monroe-it’s the place you’ve been hoping to find.
The Ike Hamilton Expo Center, or “The Ike”, as it has come to be
called was designed with comfort and convenience of sports competi-
tors in mind. Perfect for western equestrian events like team roping,
cutting, and barrel racing; “The Ike” is also just right for everything
from concerts to remote control car races.
Conveniently located just off Interstate 20, the Ike is surrounded by
amenities. The facility boasts 7 acres under one roof, with a climate
controlled main arena with handicap accessible seating for 2900.
Add over 500 stalls with electricity, 180 fully-functioning RV slots,
pens, warm-up areas, wash racks and an additional outdoor arena;
you have the perfect local for any equestrian, cattle or trade show.
Throw in the meeting rooms and catering services and you have the
perfect spot for any training or gathering.
Please remember to keep the facility nice, Absolutely NOTHING
may be TAPED, STAPLED, or NAILED on the grounds except for the
designated bulletin boards; otherwise fines will be imposed. Please
place trash and manure in the dumpsters provided outside. Stall
decorations are encouraged.
There is a list of nearby hotels on page 10 of this premium. There
are restaurants and shopping close to the Expo Center. Also if
needed the Glenwood Regional Medical Center is located within 3
miles of the facility at 503 McMillan Road.
50/50 Drawing There will be a 50/50 drawing during the show to help benefit ETMHC. & AMHS Tickets will be available for purchase at the show. Half of the proceeds go to the winning ticket and the other half go to the clubs. The drawing will be held during the lunch break on Saturday and you must be present to win.
