Fr. Terry Keehan As many have stated and observed, we are living in unprecedented times these days. We are in the grip of a health and medical crisis that, most likely, has never been experienced on the world stage. Our crisis is a pandemic! There are many statements out there re-ferring to the true test of character and faith that arises during challenge and crisis. Our unique challenge now is that the very thing that we need the most – gathering to share human warmth, touch and connection – is being taken from us. That closeness is the very thing that can make us sick. So just as in other times of crisis, tragedy and human suff ering, our faith must arise. Our courage and wisdom must manifest itself in new and diff erent ways. That is what Jesus did for all of humanity during his last days as a human. He arose – or rose – to a new and diff erent reality in the face of suff ering and death. We must continue to draw inspiration from his example now more than ever. Some of our unique demonstrations of faith can be inspired by previous ones. I gathered with my brother Jack and his wife Mickie recently to remember the fi rst anniversary of her mother Helen Prasnikar's death. In remembering her, as with many others, her presence was felt. She lives in us. This certainly applies to how we often relate to Jesus. As we gathered (all 6 feet apart) at Hel-en’s grave, Mickie's sister Jackie read a re-fl ection from Kitty O’Meara, a retired teacher who lives in Madison, WI. It is in the blue box on this page. Easter is about new life. O'Meara articu-lates that in the healing of the earth and the richer, deeper and newer ways that people can look at each other in a crisis. She articu-lates that for us. Even though this pandemic is far from over, the Easter new life that we can experience NOW may pull us through our isolation and struggle. I have seen this in other ways recently. Heidi Rooney, a parishioner and former staff member, organized a caravan of cars to drive by Jody Lakowske's house last week.
Jody is struggling with cancer. Initially Heidi predicted 30 cars were to participate. As we went by the Lakowske home, 70 cars were in the caravan - over twice as many as expect-ed! Something about human kindness and compassion made more of the gesture. That is the power of new life. I have appreciated how many leaders. news stations and organizations have ad-opted the mantra, "We are in this together." I fi nd it interesting that we have been pro-claiming that before Mass for several years now. I hope this resurgence makes you ap-preciate it even more. I have also added something I borrowed from someone out there that compliments the unity of our statement. We don't have to BE together to WORK together, and WE ARE IN THIS TOGETHER and THIS is Easter. Let us BE in it and WORK to share it, even though we are farther than 6 feet apart. Happy Unique Easter. I miss gathering with all of you. You bring Easter joy and hope to me more than you will ever know. I hope to convey that when we gather again – of course, most sacredly in the Eucharist.
And the people stayed home. And read books, and listened, and rested, and ex-ercised, and made art, and played games, and learned new ways of being, and werestill. And listened more deeply. Some medi-tated, some prayed, some danced. Somemet their shadows. And the people beganto think diff erently.
And the people healed. And, in the absence of people living in ignorant, dangerous, mindless, and heartless ways, the earthbegan to heal.
And when the danger passed, and the people joined together again, they grievedtheir losses, and made new choices, anddreamed new images, and created newways to live and heal the earth fully, as they had been healed.

Second Sunday of Easter
1. What are the parallels between the early Christian Community as described in Acts and life in our Christian community today?
2. The Apostles had the benefi t of tangible proof. How do we, who live by faith, encounter this proof?
3. Peter says, “by the power of God (we) are safeguarded through faith.” Are there times when you are more aware of God’s protection?
4. Can you relate to Thomas? Think about times of doubt and times of great faith.
5. Why is it unfair for us to judge Thomas?
SOCIAL JUSTICE QUESTIONWhat changes within you when you consciously breathe in the Spirit of Christ? How can you be that “spirit” to the poor or down trodden in need of an advocate?
Draw Us ForthDraw us forth, God of all creation. Draw us forward and away from limited certainty into the immense world of your love. Give us the capacity to even for a moment taste the richness of the feast you give us. Give us the peace to live with uncertainty, with questions, with doubts. Help us to experience the resurrection anew with open wonder and an increasing ability to see you in the people of Easter. Amen.

Parish Support & Services

The Parish Support & ServicesCommunity...oversees the parish business and infrastructure activities to ensure they operate effi ciently.
We are in this Together Due to changes in Archdiocesan policies we will no longer provide a Sun-day Mass but will continue to provide the Homily for you on our website and YouTube so we may continue to pray together as a Community. We are also providing our Wednesday Recharge to help us through this period of the unknown. You will fi nd a variety of Spiritual Enrichment Resources on our website to assist you in prayer. Our staff will continue to answer our phone from 8:30 – 4:30 pm Monday through Friday and serve you.
Our building is now operating as an unoccupied facility with our thermostat set at 50 degrees, we have only safety/emergency lighting operational, and most major appliances have been turned off . We expect signifi cant op-erational savings from these actions. We are also reviewing our expected expenditures that will no longer occur to determine additional savings in our expenses. In accordance with the Archdiocese guidelines our staff is work-ing from home, however this cost comprises over 50% of our expenses. We want to keep our staff intact and ready to fully serve your needs when we are together again, and we will continue to follow Archdiocesan guide-lines and policies.
We thank our electronic givers for your continued support, and to those who recently have made the switch to electronic giving. However, the weekly envelope and cash support has all but ceased resulting in this channel of income dropping by over 80%. So that we are able to continue operations in the near term while our buildings are closed we ask you to please consider the ongoing support of our community. Options for giving are: • Mailing in your weekly envelope or cash donation to Holy Family, 2515 Palatine Road, Inverness • Go online to holyfamily.org and click on the Give tab to make a One-Time Gift or to Set Up a Recurring Gift in lieu of envelope giving • Text – 73256 to keyword holyfamily (one word) • PayPal – [email protected] • Venmo – @HolyFamily-Inverness
Holy Family, We Are In This Together and we will remain together! I would like all of us individually and collectivelly to commit to the following as we continue to experience the challenge we all fi nd ourselves in - Stay home - Stop the spread - Save lives.
Thank you for your support!

In the midst of this pandemic that has brought us all to our knees in prayer, Easter has arrived, even if we are still experiencing some “Good Friday” or “Holy Saturday” moments and feelings. This is a season to remember that no matter how heavy our cross may be, the love of God always prom-ises new life. Today we celebrate that new life, and we look forward to the day when we can all gather in church TOGETHER to sing, “Alleluia” in full voice!
May the good news of the resurrection help you to LOVE ALWAYS and bless you with the change in perspective that we have prayed for this year. May your Easter be the beginning of new life in you.

Over the past four years, the partnership our Family Faith kids (grades 1-6) have forged with the students of Divine Mercy School in Kenya has been amazing to behold.
Year by year we have witnessed the power of love unfold and transform the lives of all the children. Miracles happen when we care about the suffering of our Brothers, sisters, and trust in God’s love. Click here and here to see the wondrous Things they have done in love.

Our world is upside down! COVID-19 has disrupted daily life across the globe. As millions shelter in place, it is any wonder our Easter Alleluia rings less triumphant? Like those early Christians many of us find ourselves set apart, in a proverbial upper room, overwhelmed by a world turned upside down.
This year’s Passion Play, Thy Will Be Done, speaks to the questions we now ask. As soon as it is safe to do so, it will be performed, followed by a conversation with the cast.

USCCB President’s Refl ection and Prayer During CoronavirusMarch 13, 2020
WASHINGTON- Archbishop José H. Gomez of Los Angeles, president of the U.S. Confer-ence of Catholic Bishops, has issued the following regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19): With the worldwide outbreak of the coronavirus, we are confronted once more with the fragility of our lives, and again we are reminded of our common humanity — that the peoples of this world are our brothers and sisters, that we are all one family under God. God does not abandon us, he goes with us even now in this time of trial and testing. Inthis moment, it is important for us to anchor our hearts in the hope that we have in Jesus Christ. Now is the time to intensify our prayers and sacrifi ces for the love of God and the love of our neighbor. Let us draw closer to one another in our love for him, and rediscover the things that truly matter in our lives. United with our Holy Father Pope Francis, let us pray in solidarity for our brothers and sisters here and around the world who are sick. Let us pray for those who have lost lovedones to this virus. May God console them and grant them peace. We pray also for doctors, nurses, and caregivers, for public health offi cials and all civicleaders. May God grant them courage and prudence as they seek to respond to this emer-gency with compassion and in service to the common good. In this time of need, I invite all the faithful to seek together the maternal intercession of Our Lady of Guadalupe, and I share this prayer with you: Holy Virgin of Guadalupe, Queen of the Angels and Mother of the Americas. We fl y toyou today as your beloved children. We ask you to intercede for us with your Son, as you did at the wedding in Cana. Pray for us, loving Mother, and gain for our nation and world, and for all our families and loved ones, the protection of your holy angels, that we may be spared the worst of this illness. For those already affl icted, we ask you to obtain the grace of healing and deliverance.Hear the cries of those who are vulnerable and fearful, wipe away their tears and help them to trust. In this time of trial and testing, teach all of us in the Church to love one an-other and to be patient and kind. Help us to bring the peace of Jesus to our land and to our hearts. We come to you with confi dence, knowing that you truly are our compassionate mother, health of the sick andcause of our joy. Shelter us under the mantle of your protection, keep us in the embrace of your arms, help us always to know the love of your Son, Jesus. Amen.
