SERRA VOCATION THOUGHT
The loving environment of a family draws forth an indi-
viduals greatest talents and gis. Weve come to realize
that creang an atmosphere in which children can hear
the Lords call is one of the most significant responsibili-
es resng on the shoulders of parents.

trict is hosng the first annual

scou
ng community to come together for fun, food, ser-vice, and faith. All registered scouts and scouters have
the opportunity to go home with the Internaonal
Awareness patch! This event is open to all ages and
faiths.

at 760-757-4762. Help us make this day a huge success
for our Catholic scoung youth!
FROM THE PASTOR
He is Risen, Alleluia, Alleluia. With this tradional
greeng we begin our Easter season. And so the other
day, I was thinking of my Easter experiences. How when I
was lile that I did not understand the real significance
of Easter. I remember as a lile boy back in the early
60s of once geng a purple and green Easter chick. I
remember always geng an Easter basket. I remembermy grandmother and my mother used to always get a
brand new Easter hat and they loved the really big
ones. Not just the lile pill box hats that Jackie Kennedy
used to wear! When I was 15 or so I remember my
mother had a big purple hat with big purple flowers and
of course, being an adolescent boy, I was embarrassed
because in those days, most ladies wore hats to
Mass. But these memories now are some of my fondest
memories of my mom and grandmother.
As I have goen older, and probably more mature, I
have become more aware and appreciave of the great
Pastoral mysteries we celebrate at this me. The fact
that the Lord died and rose from the dead. The fact that
we are redeemed in Christ. The fact that through our
own bapsm, we are united with the death and resur-
recon of Christ gives me great hope. I find great joy and
peace at this me of year. Spring is here and with that in
this season comes new life.
I invite you to listen very closely to the gospel readings
in the next weeks during the Easter season. In my opin-
ion, these readings are some of the most beauful read-
ings of the enre year. Mary Magdalene encounters our
Lord in the garden, the disciples walk with Jesus on theroad to Emmaus and discover his presence in the break-
ing of the bread, and the disciples come to believe the
Lord has truly risen and conquered death. My hope for
myself and for all you is that God give you great peace
and joy in your heart during this Easter season. In spite
of the brokenness of the world, all is redeemed through
Christ.

PREGUNTA DE LA SEMANA
Qu encuentras di
cil de entender de tu fe? Cmo ayudas aotros a entender tu fe catlica?
ENERGA PASCUAL
Cmo podemos restaurar esa energa hoy? Permiendo
A profundizar nuestra fe? A una conver-
sin? Qu nueva vida renacer en nosotros y en nuestra co-
munidad parroquial esta maana de Pascua?Copyright J. S. Paluch Co.
De Nuestro Prroco
El ha Resucitado, Aleluya, Alelu-
ya! Con este saludo tradicional
comenzamos nuestra tempora-
da de Pascua. El otro da, yo
pensaba en mis experiencias de
Pascua.
No eran
Conforme fui creciendo, y probablemente ms maduro,
me he vuelto ms consciente y apreciavo del gran mis-
A pesar

The Promise of GodsUncondional Love and Infinite Generosity
The church has always encouraged authenc and
balanced forms of devoon that will help the faith-
ful to deepen their appreciaon of the Eucharist.
The First Friday devoon is dedicated to the most
Sacred Heart of Jesus and is associated with St.
Mary Margaret Alacoque who was given the gi ofan intense grace filled prayer life. In her myscal
insights (visions) she was given messages to fight
the heresy of Jansenism that drove people way from
God.
The devoon to the Sacred Heart of Jesus empha-
sizes the mercy and love of God and encourages be-
lievers to frequently receive communion. Through
receiving the sacrament, people will come to experi-
ence and know the uncondional love of God.
On First Fridays, Friday, April 5, (Friday in honor of
Good Friday), parishioners gather aer the Daily
Mass and spend from 8:00-10:00 a.m. in Eucharisc
Adoraon. People pray for themselves and the
church to always pracce and experience the mys-
tery of receiving communion and parcipang in
the sacramental encounter with Jesus.
Please join the members of our parish in this very
important part of the churchs devoonal life.
