Sh!ing the St"y
Bedtime storiesEach night read a new story about
the great news of what Jesus did on
the cross!(look at our list of
great books)
VideosFinding a child-friendly version of the Passion story doesn’t have to be hard. Why not use some of these great
YouTube clips to share the story with your
children. (look at our list of
multimedia resources)
Resurrection EggsHave fun creating a set of Resurrection Eggs. Open one of the eggs each day
as you countdown to Easter, discovering a tiny
symbol that tells part of the Easter story. Include little printout explanations and
Scripture references in each egg.
Easter Story CubesThese story cubes are perfect for little
hands and very interactive. Your children will be
mesmerised as they turn the cube inside
out to reveal the Easter Story.
Reflections for Easter (Card Set)

family devotional . This set of cards from
Sweet Honeycomb provides 16 hand-
designed cards and a small booklet of
reflections for the family to read and reflect on
together.
MusicPlay as background
music while you play/work at home. Why not set up a Spotify
playlist!Music is a powerful
resource for memorising Scripture
and learning about God’s word.

Creating
CookingThere are so many fun things to bake and eat that aren’t
chocolate - try resurrection rolls, hot cross buns, jellybean
biscuits, crown of thorn pretzel biscuits,
and more!
Decorating EggsDye hard boiled eggs or paint blown eggs with
patterns, words or symbols that point to Jesus. For example, “Joy!” “He is risen”, a cross or a crown of
thorns. Pinterest has some great examples.
Easter PlaydoughDownload any number of amazing Easter play dough placemats that can be laminated and used over and over
again.
Geoboard CrossesMake a geoboard using
a piece of wood and nails that are half-
hammered in. Using coloured rubber bands, see how many
different shaped crosses they can create
(2 rubber bands per cross).
Connect OnlineYou may not be able to gather with other family friends this Easter, but don’t let that stop you
from contacting them - set up a Zoom ‘hot cross bun’
morning tea call, a FaceTime chat after
church on Easter Sunday.
Resurrection GardenCreate a Resurrection
Scene depicting the empty tomb, the crosses, and the hill on which Jesus died.
First have yourself an Easter Scavenger Hunt,
searching the backyard to find all of the elements to
make it.
Easter Egg HuntCreate an alternative
to the traditional Easter Egg Hunt, by hiding some of God’s
Easter Gifts (forgiveness, peace,
love, resurrection, etc) inside reusable plastic
Easter Eggs.
Activity BooksInstead of buying yet
another egg or chocolate bunny, check out some of
the amazing range of Easter Activity books available. Perfect to
complete together during quiet/rest time or during
the Easter holidays.
