Current management of the 200 hectare site aims to balance the ecological, cultural and historic values whilst providing recreational areas for everyone to enjoy. Over 30 hectares of East Point Reserve remains native vegetation. Management of this is guided by the East Point Reserve Biodiversity 5 Year Management Plan 2014 - 2018. The East Point Reserve Interactive Science trail helps educate and inform the community about some of the highlights of this unique area. It explains some of the work being done to improve and conserve one of the few remaining pockets of dry monsoon rainforest so close to the city centre.
