Our MissionThat every school child, regardless of location, background or ability

should have the pleasure of experiencing the wonder of creation

through actually doing practical science and related experiments

that are linked to the curriculum.

That every single aspect of primary and secondary science learning

should be covered by the curriculum linked resources we offer.

How we do itCurricular Partnerships and Project Work

Our true speciality at Edu-Lab® is working with people or groups to

achieve mutually beneficial aims in the educational sphere. We have

an expert team of educators and technical advisors who can work

with our partners to take an idea and turn it into reality, and we

have the practical resources to do so. Be it complete lab fit-outs,

specialised individual products or total curriculum solutions, we are

continually developing ways of delivering better science education,

tailored to fit the specific needs of teachers around the world.

ResourcesWith over 100 years of curriculum experience and by listening

closely to teachers, we've been able to add over 500 new

resources to our 2012 catalogue.

Since our development of Microscience® we have always been at

the cutting edge of science education around the world, and are

continually expanding our resource range to make learning and

teaching safer, more fun, more economical and more effective.

We are firm believers that learning science means doing science,

and this is at the core of what we do and the resources we provide.

That's why we're constantly adding inquiry-based, hands-on learning

resources to our range and producing supplemental resources -

such as our library of curriculum-linked teacher's notes and student

worksheets. They help guide the students through the scientific

process and cut down on session preparation time, leaving teachers

more time to actually teach.

Customer ServiceWe have a dedicated, efficient, friendly team of customer service

and technical advisors. Coupled with our large warehouse facility

and huge range of stock items, this allows us to provide customer

service which is second-to-none. Not only can we offer same-day

despatch on all stock items, but in the unlikely event there may be

a problem with the order then our no-quibble guarantee makes it

painless for all involved.

Laboratory Power SupplyThe EDU-LAB 0-15V power supply has proved to beextremely popular and the ideal choice for physicistsworldwide. It is simply the most advanced power packavailable today and with the 5 year warranty it's a safeinvestment.

Provides stepped voltage of 0-15V in one volt steps for bothAC and slightly smoothed DC.

A special key lock (all units have identical keys) allows the voltage to be locked to a particular level or to a maximum (ceiling).

Long switch lift time means that voltage can be switchedsafely at full load without serious contact wear.

Continuously rated output of 8.5A, AC or DC , or addedsum of 8.5A

The set ceiling or locked voltage will be memorized, even if the unit is switched off and on again.

Fully protected, secondary by high speed, micro-processorcontrolled, resettable electronic trip. Over-current is measured and timed for cases of serious overload and slightoverload to decide tripping time This avoids over-sensitive tripping in cases of initial heavy current surge, for example when using lamp bulbs.

Slow-blow fuse protection for primary transformer.

Additional Thermal Trip protection for transformer.

Schottky barrier diodes are employed for rectification with less voltage drop and power waste, thus eliminating the needfor noisy, hot, cooling fans that are liable to fail.

208 mm x 155mm x 115mm (W x H x D)

Input voltage: 230V ±5%

Output voltage, 0-15V AC at full load

Slightly smoothed DC (by 2200µF output capacitor) gives practical r.m.s values of 0 -15V at no load.

Now you can demonstrate to your classthe forces behind continental drift: the creation of newlithosphere at mid-ocean ridges which serves to push the tectonic plates apart. You'll be able to retrace theprocess over the past 150 million years, providing visual'snapshots' as the earth evolved through the Jurassic and Cretaceous Periods and into the Cenozoic Era. Household uses of Rocks & MineralsAn inquiry-based activity on the properties and uses ofnatural resources in the home. Did you know that most of the items used in our homes are mined from theearth? Fluorite is used in toothpaste and paint pigments, feldspar is found in soaps, and halite in mouthwashes -among many, many others! Your students will perform a series of hands-on experiments to determine the properties of various rocks and minerals as well as theircommon uses. Based upon their investigations, they willeven try to identify new applications for particular rocksand minerals. Class size – 40 students.

MicroLife Water Monitoring Kit The kit is designed to provide a simple, affordable andsafe method of performing basic water quality tests. Thewritten material applies to the testing of surface waterfrom rivers and dams, however some of the tests can bedone on ground water too. The test for residual chlorineapplies to treated water only. The kit contains enoughequipment to enable most of the chemical tests to beconducted on ten different water samples. Armed withthe results of the various tests you complete, you shouldbe able to safely conclude whether the water you aretesting is in a good, fair or bad condition. You should thenbe able to make some recommendation or determine appropriate actions to improve not only the quality ofthe water, but also the lives and living conditions of the people who depend on this natural resource. Your samples will require confirmatory testing at a recognisedreference centre. Results generated with this kit are to be used as a rough qualitative guide only and are for educational purposes only.
