Poster: ImageLow angle on antagonist- makes him appear more dominating in the frame and

threatening towards the audience.

His costume will be all black to blend in with the darkness. None of his skin will be visible as it will all be covered by his dark costume.

His mask will be a signature piece to the slasher. It will be a white baseball mask or a balaclava. This allows the audience and the characters to only see his eyes rather than his facial expression; stripping away his emotions and human features, portraying him as a fearful monster.

His weapon; The weapon will be a large axe to blend in with the idea of the setting in a forest. It is a heavy, sharp object, this will make the antagonist appear threatening and powerful.

Poster: TextThe title ( DeadWood Grove) of the film will be featured central and underneath the image to follow

layout conventions.

It will be in red font to connote danger, blood and gore; triggering the slasher sub-genre.

Our tagline will also feature, 'Welcome to the woods'. This will sit above the slasher title, yet in a smaller font to make sure the title grabs attention first.

Colours we have thought about for the tagline as a group are; dark greys/greens and whites.

Font Ideas:All three of these fonts link perfectly to the narrative of our slasher. The letters have a sinister approach

to them, through the use of the smeared effect; this could connote blood and gore which will be shed in our film. They also have a worn away effect, this could link to the forest setting as they mirror the rooked and rotten trees.

Magazine: ImageWe have several ideas for our magazine image. Firstly, we thought

about a long shot of our antagonist on a plane black background. Using direct address in a low angle shot will make him appear fearful and threatening towards the audience. His weapon will also feature in the image.

Another idea was to include both the antagonist and protagonist. It will again feature a plain background, with a medium close up of the final girl appearing scared towards the camera, with the killer lurking over her right shoulder holding his axe above his head ready to strike. Or simply just lurking over her watching, creating a sinister tone for the magazine; again mirroring the idea of a cat and mouse chase throughout the film.

Magazine: TextWe have brainstormed many different names for the masthead of our magazine. We are yet to come to a

conclusion of what this will be, but the name will be chosen from the brainstorm below.

The main sell-line will be regarding ‘Deadwood Grove’ as this would then help to anchor the main image.

The sell-lines will not be relative to our movie of ‘Deadwood Grove’ in particular, but will be a further initiative in order to convince the target audience to purchase the magazine.

SolutionAs a group we were able to deliberate several ideas for our poster and magazine. Through our practical production we will be trying out the several different ideas to see which best suits the frame, this will also allow us to experiment with different ideas rather than sticking to one.
