Caterpillar Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

Caterpillar’s Employee Assistance Program (EAP) helps employees and immediate family members privately resolve problems that may interfere with life at work or at home.

EAP is confidential and free of charge.

Professional CounselingYou and your immediate family members can see a professional counselor for up to six sessions per year for each problem that arises. You can access the program many times through the year as different issues arise. When additional specialized or longer-term support is needed, professional consultants will help you find the resources to best suit your needs.

Professional counseling can help with concerns such as:

• Depression and anxiety

• Workplace conflicts and job performance problems

• Marital or relationship problems

• Career and relocation concerns

• Issues concerning family and children

• Managing stress

• Alcohol abuse, drug problems, gambling and other addictions

• Anger management

• Grief and loss

• And many others

Work/Life ConsultationWe frequently encounter circumstances, big and small, where we need information and helpful resources. Trying to find those needed resources can be disruptive and time consuming. Work/life services can be helpful in getting you information and referrals to the services you need.

Work/Life services can help with matters such as:

• Finding childcare, back-up care, eldercare or summer camps

• Information on public schools, colleges and universities

• Legal consultation on non-work-related issues

• Financial and debt management support

• Identity theft services

• Resume writing and spousal job-search support

• In-home eldercare assessment for elderly parents

• Adoption assistance and referrals

• Pet care resources

• Web information such as self-assessments, webinars and online courses

• Resources for daily living – if you spend more than a few minutes searching the web or the phone book, work/life services may be able to do the work for you

Eligibility, Cost and ConfidentialityEAP is a benefit that is available in the United States to all full-time Caterpillar employees and their immediate family members. All services are confidential and completely free of charge.

How to Access EAPBy Phone:All of the services offered through EAP can be accessed 24/7/365 by calling 1-866-CAT(228)-0565.

Your call will be answered by a professional who will assess your needs, then set up an appointment for personal counseling or a consultation with a work/life consultant. Counseling is available face-to-face through a network of providers near your home or work. You may be randomly asked to participate in a brief, confidential, voluntary survey to evaluate the quality of EAP services.

On Site:On-site consultants are available in the medical clinics in many of the larger Caterpillar facilities. Check with your HR manager or on-site medical clinic for availability of on-site services.
