“Hello and thank you for your interest in EachStep Blackley. My name is Michelle and I am proud to be the Manager of this wonderful service.

At EachStep, you’ll find a £5 million building filled with innovation, designed by award winning architects and Community Integrated Care’s own dementia care experts. But our journey in creating EachStep didn’t begin with a decision to build a new care service, it started with us looking at the many issues that people with dementia face and asking ourselves a question – ‘How can we do things differently to really change people’s lives?’

The founding principle of EachStep is a set of seemingly simple concepts: that people with dementia need consistency in their lives; that they and their loved ones need support; and that they should be cared for by well trained staff with facilities that really meet their needs. We have brought these simple beliefs together to devise a service that is truly innovative.

EachStep Blackley offers a complete range of support for people with dementia – home care, day care, respite care and residential and nursing care. By providing this holistic package we are in the unique position

of being able to support people with dementia each step of the way, offering assistance to meet any challenges they may face and helping to relieve some of the pressures that family and other carers experience.

With our highly trained staff, specialist facilities and philosophy of always supporting people to enjoy happy and fulfilled lives, we aim to offer the highest standards of dementia care. We continually strive to make EachStep not just a beacon for excellence locally, but nationally too.

Our service is vibrant – a place where people are well cared for and supported to be happy, engaged and fulfilled. We want to really get to know the people who use our service, and use this understanding to support their mental stimulation and physical wellbeing, helping them to remain independent for longer, be part of their communities and continue to follow the interests and activities that they enjoy.

We know that dementia is a daunting condition with lots of ‘what if’s’ and as much as possible, we want to help. EachStep isn’t just a name to us, it’s our commitment: that we will always be there, supporting people each step of the way.”

Day Care

How can Day Care help me?

For some people, dementia can be an isolating condition that makes it difficult for them to stay in contact with friends, pursue their hobbies and meet new people. The Club offers a great way to remain active, meet and make friends and have fun.

Mental stimulation and social interaction have great health benefits for people with dementia, so accessing The Club offers fantastic support for staying independent for longer too. The Club can also help family and other carers, allowing them to take some time out of their caring routine knowing that their loved one is well supported and enjoying a great day out.

When does the The Club open?

Our day service is typically open every day from 8:30am until 6pm. We try to ensure that The Club is flexible to all of our members and their commitments – because of this we offer a range of sessions that run from as little as three hours to as long as a full day.

We can also offer transport to and from The Club, meaning you will always be picked up by a familiar face.

What happens at The Club?

There are a wide range of fun and engaging activities on offer in our service, all designed to suit the varying interests and abilities of members. From arts and crafts to gardening, baking and music, every day you will have a varied schedule of activities that you can choose to take part in. As our service is focused on getting to know you, we will also support you to pursue your existing hobbies and skills.

The Club also includes a range of facilities such as a kitchenette, cinema screen and large patio gardens, for people to access and enjoy when they choose. We can also provide people attending The Club with delicious healthy meals and snacks.

Who will be supporting me?

Members of The Club will be supported by Care and Activity Workers, specially trained staff who are focussed on giving our members all the support they need and ensuring that they are taking part in fun and engaging activities.

What is Day Care?Day Care gives people with dementia the opportunity to spend a day with company, enjoying entertaining and engaging activities. It’s a great way to meet new people, have fun and spend some time away from home in a new environment.

Our EachStep Blackley service includes a large spacious day service called ‘The Club’, which can accommodate up to 25 people at a time.

The Club has been specially designed to be accessible for people with dementia and offers a wide range of activities to fulfil every member’s interests.

Our staff will regularly meet with you and your family or other carers when necessary, to assess that the support you are getting at The Club meets your needs. By regularly reviewing the support we give you, we’ll ensure that you are always getting the most out of the day care you receive and that this is the right service for you.
