OUR JOURNEY
Amma - Amma, mother, is an epitome of selfless service. With an intention to serve the
people, in need and despair, like a mother who serves her children, we named our group as
AMMA Social Welfare Association (ASWA), which was established on 27.04.2008 and is
registered under Societies Registration Act (Regd. No.14/2010].
Address : SR Nagar, Hyderabad
Web Presence : www.aswa.co.in OR ammasocialwelfareassociation.blogspot.com

OUR FIRST STEP
Members of AMMA group are basically employees and students. All of them individually
nurture the idea of helping others and collectively decided to implement the ideas. Our
discussion on 28.12.07 to plunge into action was fruitful. On the New Year Day of 2008, we
visited the Sivananda Rehabilitation Center, located in Kukatpally, to spend quality time with
the innocent, uncared, unwanted and lovelorn children, men and women of all ages and
we were successful in spreading joy and bringing smiles to those otherwise hapless people.
For the first time ever we understood the joy of giving, sharing and caring. At the same time
moved by the problems in the world, the ultimate ground realities. Nothing appeared to be
more fulfilling than spreading love and sharing happiness.
Motivated by the satisfaction of the New Year activity, we planned to continue our efforts as
a group. Our first step after forming the group was to raise fund for a little angel’s
Appendicitis operation.
Our Logo has the following features:
CHILD ON MOTHER’S LAP - “SELFLESS SERVICE”
LOVE ALL- SERVE ALL - “UNIVERSAL LOVE”
GREEN COLOR - “Life, Nature, Fertility, Well
Being & Balance
BLUE COLOR - Youth, Spiritual
SAFFRON COLOR - Sacrifice and Salvation

OUR STRENGTH
Volunteers and Donors are the real strength of AMMA. Each one of you is responsible for the
success of AMMA. With your active participation and cooperation, the journey has been
wonderful and it is like living a dream. Year after year we are making good progress with your
wise inputs and timely help.
ASWAs walk, with 10-15 members in April 2008, has become a march of 150+ members.
Irrespective of busy schedules, our volunteers love to know the progress of ASWA. We value
feedback and work on suggestions.
OUR SCOPE
Most of our activities take place in and around Hyderabad. Recently we expanded our
reach to Vijayawada and Ananthapuram. Occasionally we serve in Nellore and
Medak districts.
Our scope is not confined to a particular place. Activities depend on the availability of
volunteers. If a peon is interested to take up any activity at his native place, we encourage
and offer our support to the extent possible.

to share our happiness, enjoyment and make them happy at least for few
hours. So they feel they have somebody to “Share & Care”

Our objective in “SAVE LIFE” Project is to create awareness about BLOOD
DONATION. We are donating blood to the needy as well as providing
proper information/directions to get blood at the earliest. Blood donation
is the most valuable service to mankind. There is no substitute for it. About
one of every seven people entering a hospital requires a blood
transfusion. This startling statistics underscore the crucial nature of blood
donation. There is no laboratory that manufactures blood in spite of latest
trends in technology.
That blood can only come from a volunteer donor, a person like you who
makes the choice to donate.
WHAT WE DO UNDER THIS
Donating /Providing blood donors details to needy who are in hospitals
Conducting Blood Donation Drives in Colleges, Corporate and Colonies

Project in different places. We also started donating clothes to these
along with Food. Currently we are regularly doing this in Hyderabad &
Vijayawada.
We started supporting 1000/- Per Month from October, 12 for Food
Distribution activity to destitute & old age people in Kunta Village,
Chhattisgarh State by MAA Society.
Volunteers need to follow the below said Basic Guidelines in this Project Implementation.
Each team will distribute 20 food packets with the maximum limit of the Rs.500.
Distributed Packet should contain One Meal + Curries or Combination of Lemon & Curd Rice
Food distribution has to be done to needy people only, after having clear search on roads
Food distribution strictly prohibited to the destitute/beggars at Temples, Church, Mosques &
Other Public Crowd Gathering Places (as they are not the destitute instead they are
commercial beggars who can earn with ease).
We need to talk/ enquire/counsel the people/destitute, for whom we are distributing the
food. We need to motivate them and if they accepted we have to join them in homes.
If volunteers are available (and funds supported) then we will start this Project at their own Place

received a very unforgettable help. I honor thank full for the people who helped me in overcoming my
family problems. Name itself suggests that Amma is Amma for everyone. Kavita Priyadarshini. MCA, Hyd
"Volunteers of ASWA are Real Gems. I admire their dedication and commitment towards society. They are
regularly expanding their services in to different social services and doing excellent contribution
everywhere. If all youth of India follow their footsteps, India will become number one in everything. They
should be considered as Role Models for all Youth of India." K. Prabhakar Rao, CA, ICWA & CS, Sr. Director
In 2008, Met Srinivas as a brother from Nellore with lot of energy & enthusiasm to Serve the Society, over a
period of time they have grown leaps and bounds with respect to volunteers, the services they offered,
people they reach under the apt name, AMMA. Personally AMMA volunteers are a great support for any
activity that I take up and AMMA is an integral part of BOSF. I wish Sreenivas & Volunteers of AMMA great
learning and joy in Service. U. Prasanthi, Founder of TMAD & BOSF
AMMA is doing some awesome work. Really I am very much happy to say you people are doing some
extraordinary work with little resources. Wishing you all the best in the future & expecting you people can
serve as many as people. Kudos to all the volunteers & board for your dedication and hard work to help
poor & needy people, God Bless you all. Chintu, Treasurer, Serve The Needy
I am greatly impressed personally seeing the range of services AMMA's volunteers are doing. Education,
Healthcare and Environment as I understand as the areas of concern for AMMA, the places it reaches is
really something remarkable - From Thandas to Destitute on the Roads to patients needing help. I keep
seeing your inspiring messages all through the day. The Citibank slogan used to be 'City never sleeps' - I
would say 'AMMA never sleeps' May God bless you! A. Thiagarajan, Seva Counseling Center, Hyd
