e-Schools Africa Initiative Overview

Initiative aimed at bridging the digital divide by providing e-education and e-Government project initiatives in sub Saharan Africa.

This initiative is aimed at making readily available to post-primary and primary schools the latest and the best solutions for ICT connectivity through an educational grant. Schools will be empowered to go electronic in their system administration through this initiative.

Schools in this scheme will join an online community of interconnected schools known as the e-schools Africa network where educational resources can be shared.

Scheme Objective• Enable schools to acquire ICT connectivity

infrastructure free.• Create an online community of interconnected schools

known as the e-schools Africa network. • Provide computer/ ICT training workshops for students

and teachers for skills transfer.• Provide consultations to schools on e-education

(electronic-education) resources for academic purposes.

• Provide student exchange excursion programs among participating schools in Africa.

• Organize boot camps to discover and nurture talents. • Create an enabling environment to Promote ICT

culture in students

3rd Base’s Role in this projectThe e-Schools Africa Initiative as a scheme to enable Schools (Primary & Secondary) in Africa acquire ICT Connectivity at no cost to enable electronic-education and electronic school administration has been developed by 3rd Base Technologies as a social enterprise to enhance ICT penetration in African schools. Participating Schools in the scheme are made to charge a maximum surcharge of $12 for every student per annum, with 3rd Base as the technology provider, deploys the solutions and maintains the installed infrastructure free in all the schools, for as long as the school is paying the surcharge on every student every school term.

Custom Made PCs For Scheme Donated Free.Computers for the scheme have being custom built and branded e-Schools Africa at our turnkey factory in Hong Kong for e-schools Africa Initiative. All computers supplied are:•Quality tested•4 GB RAM•Dual core processor•160 GB hard drive.
