The Company has rebranded itself to Annapurna Finance Pvt Ltd, which was previouslyAnnapurna Microfinance Pvt Ltd. The name change was done keeping in mind that theCompany’s focus is now diversified into MSME and Affordable Housing loans, apart from themajor focus in Microlending.

Besides twelve existing states, AnnapurnaFinance expanded its business in the state ofWest Bengal. Apart from this, the Company isalso expanding the operations in the northernstates of Haryana and Punjab. The Companyhas already started its operation in these stateswith over 15 new branches.
Consumer Durable Loan and Solar Light Loan for Customers
The Company is more extensively usingBusiness Intelligent tools to help accelerateand improve decision-making throughvisualizations, optimizing internal businessprocesses, increasing operational efficiency,driving new revenues and to be competitive.
In addition to this, the risk analytics also helpsto track performance of the branches andindentify the risky branches by putting scoreson certain predefined parameters.
Operational Expansion of Annapurna
Advanced Data Analytics to accelerate the Decision Making
Annapurna Finance started the pilot ofConsumer Durable loans for it’scustomers to improve their lifestylequality. In collaboration with a Chennaibased organization Inthree Access,Annapurna will help the customers toget loans to buy durables from e-marketplace application Boonbox.Annapurna has also started providingloans to their customer for solar light asan initiative to step forward for a betterenvironment. In a Partnership withGreen Light Planet, Annapurna isproviding small loans up to INR. 2199with a very small EMI amount for aperiod of 6-12 months.
Delinquency Management Training for Annapurna Staffs
Annapurna Finance organized Delinquency Management Trainings andReview Meetings for the staffs. Trainings were organized at Kanha, MPand Tadoba, Maharashtra. In these trainings, the participants weretaught about the impacts of delinquency & the delinquencymanagement process. Staffs from different level of operations were
trained in the training. The training programs focused on identifying themeaning and causes of microfinance delinquencies, determining thecosts impacts of delinquencies, analyzing the factors influencingdelinquency and determining how to manage delinquencies.The main idea of the meetings were to monitor progress of theorganization from a strategic level and make sure that objectives are ontrack. This review meeting report summarizes activities and majorprogress during the period including challenges faced.

Operational Expansion of MSME Financing
After completion of pilot of
Microenterprise loan, Annapurna
expanded the operational area for this
product and has opened 22 separate
MSME branches in 6 different states. As
on 1st March, 2018 the outstanding
portfolio of the project has reached to
17.27 crore with client outreach of 1,430.
Manpower strength of the project is 150.
Induction and training programme of
new staff was organized in Puri, Odisha.
Participative approach to Forming Gender Policy
On 12th January, an interactive sessionwas conducted by Dr. Tania S. Rath andProf. Moushumi Padhi, professionalsfrom XIMB currently engaged for theformulation of Annapurna’s GenderPolicy. All the State Heads and ZonalManagers participated in the meetingand shared their views, presentpractices influencing gender concern inthe organization and theirrecommendation for the gender policy.
Social Audit by BNP Paribas Representatives
BNP Paribas supported Annapurna forSocial Audit and two representativesfrom BNP visited Annapurna from 12-16 February. During their stay, theyinteracted with strategic managementand departmental heads fromAnnapurna and also visited Beguniaand Barang branches and interactedwith clients.
2nd Edition of ‘The Achievers’
After a grand celebration of Women’s Daywith renowned women entrepreneurs inBhubaneswar, Annapurna published 2ndedition of the internal newsletter ‘TheAchievers’. The newsletter is to recognizeand promote women employees fromdifferent states, departments andfunctions of Annapurna.The Achievers consists of the journeysand experiences of our womenperformers is a small initiative torecognize the women employees andmotivate others with their inspiringstories.
