Project Description: - Shopping cart with embedded scanner - This project aimed to develop the existing shopping cart with consideration of materials, its system components and specifications. - The item is scanned using a built in scanner. The details about the scanned item is displayed in an LCD monitor placed at the handle of the shopping cart. The Raspberry Pi transmits all the data from the shopping cart. - Inputs a shopping budget and helps in monitoring totals of products bought. - Scans item barcode and display product details on the screen. - Weights the products to confirm as scanned and avoid erroneous scanning and adding different items. This also ensures security to avoid theft. Improvement: - Use of number pad can be changed to LCD touchscreen. - E-pushcart garage (charging station) - Higher version of Raspberry Pi
