E-procurement
1 E-procurement (electronic procurement, sometimes also known as supplier
exchange) is the business-to-business or business-to-consumer or business-to-
government purchase and sale of supplies, work, and services through the Internet as well as other information and networking systems, such as electronic
data interchange and enterprise resource planning.

E-procurement
1 The e-procurement value chain consists of indent management, eTendering, eAuctioning, vendor
management, catalogue management, Purchase Order Integration, Order Status, Ship
Notice, eInvoicing, ePayment, and contract management

projects).

E-procurement - In the public sector
1 Public sector organisations use e-procurement for contracts to achieve benefits such as increased efficiency and cost savings
(faster and cheaper) in government procurement and improved transparency (to reduce corruption) in procurement services. E-procurement in the public sector has seen
rapid growth in recent years. Act 590 of Louisiana's 2008 Regular Legislative Session
requires political subdivisions to make provisions for the receipt of electronic bids.

E-procurement - In the public sector
1 E-procurement in the public sector is emerging internationally. Hence, initiatives have been implemented in Singapore, UK,
USA, Malaysia, Australia and European Union. E-procurement projects are often part of the country’s larger e-Government efforts to better serve its citizens and businesses in
the digital economy. For example, Singapore’s GeBIZ was implemented as one of the programmes under its e-Government
masterplan.

E-procurement - Vendors

planning (ERP) providers which offer e-procurement as one of their
services, and the more affordable services focused specifically of e-
procurement.

E-procurement - E-procurement systems
1 An e-procurement system manages tenders through a web site. This can be accessed
anywhere globally and has greatly improved the accessibility of tenders. An
example is the System for Acquisition Management (SAM), which on July 30, 2013
combined information from the former Central Contractor Registration and Online
Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA), in the United States.

Spend management
1 In an enterprise, spend management is managing how to spend money to best
effect in order to build products and services. The term is intended to
encompass such processes as outsourcing, procurement, e-procurement, and supply
chain management. Since the "spend manager" could have a significant impact
on a company's results, it has been advocated that this manager have a senior
voice in running the company.https://store.theartofservice.com/The E-Procurement Toolkit.html
Spend management - Spend management systems
1 Most recently, companies have been utilizing new tools such as e-sourcing (for
bidding and reverse auction), e-procurement (to control and monitor
purchasing activities and contracts), and e-spend analytics (to gain insight into how
much money is being spent on what types of services or products). Some tools are also
addressing the entire spending chain, or purchase-to-pay cycle. Some of the newer
spend management solutions arehttps://store.theartofservice.com/The E-Procurement Toolkit.html
Electronic commerce - Types of e-commerce
1 Web-based purchasing policies increase the transparency of the
procurement process (and reduces the risk of irregularities). To date, however, the size of the B2G e-
commerce market as a component of total e-commerce is insignificant, as government e-procurement systems
remain undeveloped.

Purchase-to-pay - History
1 The term emerged in the 1990s and is one of a number of buzzword|buzz phrases (like Business-to-business|B2B, B2C, G2C etc.)
that emerged as Internet applications became used more widely in business. Although it does not necessarily refer
directly to the application of technology to the purchasing process, it is most often used in relation to applications like e-procurement and ERP purchasing and
payment modules.https://store.theartofservice.com/The E-Procurement Toolkit.html

consultants as well as by governments who had recognised
and enthusiastically embraced concepts like e-procurement

Drop shipping - Developments
1 Since 2006 many drop ship companies have emerged in China, many of which offer
wholesale and drop shipping services to both companies and individuals. This is largely due to the increasing ease of e-procurement and the growing part that the internet is playing in e-commerce. Drop ship suppliers based in
China have increasingly been able to compete with same-country distributors because of improved logistics for small
packets and the easing of trade barriers.
