Consumption in Religious
Establishments

Hyoungsub Kim
The church is located amongst a community
of residential homes
• College Station, TX
• ASHRAE Climate Zone 2A – Hot
&Humid
• Between 6,000 and 9,000 CDD
The building has a 24,864 ft2 footprint. Community
meeting areas in center. Classrooms and ,offices on
outside.
The buildings have several architectural
features that make modeling challenging, yet
interesting
• Cultural Hall
• Basketball Court
• Stage
• Divider
• Approx. 53’ x 79’ x 20’
• Chapel
• Approx. 53’ x 53’ x 20’
• 2 Tinted glass
doorways lead to
vestibule
A couple more interesting architectural
features
• Transformed Rooms
with Dividers
• Several Self
Contained Rooms
• 2 Vestibules
• 3 Foyers
A couple of energy consuming features of the
building
• Tankless Water
Heating
• Bathrooms
• Baptismal Font
• T8 and T12 Lighting
The buildings use several traditional, vapor
compression split systems for cooling
There are 10 air handles supplying
conditioned air to 10 zones.
