e-petition Confidential enquiry into the deaths of doctors subject to fitness to practice investigations by the General Medical Council Responsible department: Ministry of Justice If a person died in police custody unexpectedly, there could be public outcry, and investigations into what happened and why. In comparison, we know of about hundred deaths of medical doctors subject to fitness to practice investigations by the General Medical Council. This is excessive, mostly not investigated and public interest is in knowing what went wrong. We are asking the government to order a confidential enquiry into those deaths.
