DEPARTMENT OF INSTRUMENTATION ENGINEERING
The Department of Instrumentation Engineering was established in 1994 and
Diploma Program in Instrumentation Engg. was started with the annual intake of 40
students, (present intake is 60 students). The Department has been able to create a fairly
perfect infrastructure for imparting knowledge of Instrumentation Engineering.
Department has been accredited by N.B.A. New Delhi for 3 years during 2004-2007. The
Department has well qualified & experienced faculty & staff. Department has an active
student section.
VISION AND MISSION OF THE DEPARTMENT
VISION
The aim of the department is to impart quality Diploma level education in
Instrumentation Engineering to produce excellent technical manpower, motivated
towards continuous learning.
MISSION

M1 To provide quality Instrumentation Engineering education for successful
professional career through employment / self-employment and higher
studies with time to time curriculum up-gradation and modern teaching
methodologies.
M2 To promote Industry/Institute involvement in In-plant training, placement,
projects, expert lectures and workshops to disseminate the knowledge and
skills in a planned manner.
M3 To produce quality technical & ethical manpower to uplift life style of people
of rural area of Konkan.
M4 To motivate faculty for continuous quality improvement to cope-up with
recent technologies.
PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES (PEOS)

1.Basic and Discipline specific knowledge: Apply knowledge of basic mathematics,
science and engineering fundamentals and engineering specialization to solve the
engineering problems.
2.Problem analysis: Identify and analyses well-defined engineering problems using
codified standard methods.
3.Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for well-defined technical
problems and assist with the design of systems components or processes to meet
specified needs.
4.Engineering Tools, Experimentation and Testing: Apply modern engineering tools and
appropriate technique to conduct standard tests and measurements.
5.Engineering practices for society, sustainability and environment: Apply
appropriate technology in context of society, sustainability, environment and ethical
practices.
6.Project Management: Use engineering management principles individually, as a team
member or a leader to manage projects and effectively communicate about well-defined
engineering activities.
7.Life-long learning: Ability to analyses individual needs and engage in updating in the
context of technological changes.
PROGRAM SPECIFIC OUTCOMES (PSOs)
PSO1: Understand and use of basic concepts in various domains of Instrumentation
engineering suc as Industrial measurements, Process Instrumentation, Electronic
Instruments and Measurements, Feedback control System, Microprocessor and
Microcontroller.
PSO2: Apply and upgrade the knowledge and skills to use and develop Instrumentation
products and systems for development of society.
PSO3: Utilize technical and managerial skills to satisfy industrial needs ethically and
efficiently.
STUDENTS ASSOCIATION OF INSTRUMENTATION
ENGINEERING(SAIE) Student Association of Instrumentation Engineering (SAIE) is departmental student
level association and all the students from First to Third Year Instrumentation
Engineering are the members of the association. Students perform different
technical and social activities throughout the year.The activities start with Fresher’s
Welcome function every year. Many expert lectures, technical workshops,
industrial visits and talks are arranged for departmental and students. Department
level sports competitions; Fresher and Farewell are also arranged every year. The
association activities enhance the students’ skills such as event and time
management, technical competencies and also develop binding with social issues
and responsibilities for society.

To pay tribute and celebrate 150th Birth Anniversary of father of Nation Mahatma
Gandhiji the department of Instrumentation Engineering and SAIE has arranged
the speech, essay and poster presentation competitions on 3rd Aug 2019.
CELEBRATION OF TEACHERS DAY
On 5th Sept. 2019 Department of Instrumentation Engineering and Student
Association of Instrumentation Engineering has celebrated Teacher’s day.
VISIT TO SANE GURUJI RASHTRIYA SMARAK, VADGHAR
A visit to Sane Guruji Rashtriya Smarak, Vadghar on 24th of September 2019 was
organised for cleanliness drive.

EXPERT LECTURE ON ADVANCED DRIVER ASSISTANT SYSTEM An Expert Lecture on Advanced Driver Assistant System conducted by an expert
Mr. Hemant Neckar for 3rd year Students of Diploma in Instrumentation
Engineering. The Expert Lecture was held on 31st October 2019.
UNITY IN DIVERSITY FOR THE EVENT “RUN FOR UNITY”
Department of Instrumentation Engineering has organised Unity in Diversity for
the event “Run for unity” to celebrate National Unity Day on 31st October 2019
INSTITUTE LEVEL SLOGAN/CARD COMPETITION
Institute of Petrochemical Engg. And Students Association of Instrumentation
Engg. has arranged a Slogan/Card competition on the behalf of Birth Anniversary
of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad which is on 11th Nov 2019. The event was held on
8th November 2019. The topic for Slogan/Card competition was “Importance of
Education and the Nation’s commitment to all aspects of Education”.

Instrumentation Engineering on 8th November 2019.Mr. Dharmaraj Mane has been

Department of Instrumentation Engineering and students Association of
instrumentation Engineering has organised Cleaning fortnight of the department and
surrounding area. All 2nd and 3rd year Instrumentation Engineering students have
