Commissioner Note:

During the month of June month Municipality is implementing schemes for development of the

town. We are working on activities; we are also implementing the state and central government

schemes such as Implementation of Housing for all and AMRUT.

It gives a great immense pleasure to receive Pride and Honor from the Swatch Bharath Mission

and Ministry of Urban Development, Government of India as Nandyal Municipality as an Open

Defecation Free City again for the year of 2017. The Quality council of India who inspected all

the Municipalities in the country is satisfied with the existing infrastructure and maintenance of

the Sanitation and eradication of open defecation in Nandyal Municipality, and they announced

and Re- certified the Nandyal Municipality as an Open Defecation free city.

NANDYAL MUNICIPALITY

As per the Instructions from the Government of Andhra Pradesh and Honorable Chief Minister,

Nava Nirmana Deeksha campaign has conducted for a week in Nandyal Municipality which

ended with a Mega Event of Maha Sankalpam. On the Occasion of World Environment day on

5th June in Nandyal Municipality.

An Initiative of Poster Free City is taken up in Nandyal Municipality where the major road

corridors and government buildings are identified and all the wall posters are removed. The

International Yoga Day Celebrations are conducted in Nandyal Municipality on 21st June to

promote the yoga for good public health to the people of Nandyal Municipality.

As per the Instructions of State Government and Hon’ble Chief Minister, Nava Nirmana

Deeksha Campaign is conducted for a week in Nandyal Municipality. All the Sections of people

are participated. Government of Andhra Pradesh have given instructions to conduct Nava

Nirmana Deeksha programme from 2nd June to 8th June, 2016 with the main theme of Maha

Sankalpam in all Urban Local bodies and government offices. The Municipal office continues 7

days organized Nava Nirmana Deeksha program in municipal office meeting hall and Town hall

in Nandyal municipality.

On the Occasion of world Environment day on June 5th as per the Instructions from the

Government of Andhra Pradesh and Honorable Chief Minister, campaign has conducted for a

week in Nandyal Municipality which ended with On the Occasion of World Environment day on

5th June.

Indian Yoga has popularised and being implemented overall the world, so Hon’ble Prime

Minister declared 21st June as a International Yoga day. To promote it for the cause of good

health the Nandyal Municipality has conducted an event of Yoga for 2 Hours on that day. All the

officials and political bodies are participated in the event.

As per the instructions of the Swach Bharath Mission and also the state government, A Poster

Free Initiative is taken up by Nandyal Municipality where the junctions and the main roads

majorly of creating abnormal look with posters on the walls and corridors are identified and

removed on emergency basis. Now the Nandyal Municipality is planning to make wall paintings

and arts to all the main road corridor compound walls and near schools and government offices.

In order to provide civic amenities and to give a decent quality of life to the Citizens of Nandyal

the following works have been taken up on June month. Lying of Metal road near Samatha vidya

nikethan in ward no14, with an estimated cost of rs7.70 Laks Bhomi Pooja had done by our

Honourable chairperson Smt. Desam Sulochana garu for the construction of road works.
