DescriptionThe trolley fire extinguishers with double extinguishing also called Twinagents, are constituted from an only trolley on the strong rubber wheelsmounted spheres, and from two tanks charged with polyvalent powderABC and with foam A.F.F.F Sealfire® super concentrate. The trolley isplanned for use by high or low people. Infact the special handle can behold in various heights and allows pushing or pulling the trolley ahead.It can moreover be equipped with towing hook for motor vehicles.The cylinder on request can be supplied with various powders forexample Monnex, or special BC, or with 90% of Map.The combined action renders them unsurpassable in the fight againstthe fire. On great fires of inflammable liquids the foam action creates asealing effect that pulls down flames, and in case the extinction has notbeen obtained, the powder easily extinguishes the residual flames.The begins foam action pulls down flames and reduces the heatdrastically, allowing an approach and successive use of the powder forthe definitive extinction.It is indicated and indispensable in airports, refineries, large places ofinflammable liquids, department store of stacking dangerous andinflammable. The towing hook can be supplied in two different types:Sphere coupling express or with centre hole, standardized type NATO.On request assembly on undercarriage accredited for towing on road.

Frame trolleyThe cylinders are independent from the frame trolley, givingadvantages for a better safety avoiding welding on its body.The frame is made by steel tube painted with black epoxy-polyester.

CylindersThe design cylinder has successfully achieved all the essentialrequirements requested by the Pressure Equipment Directive 97/23/EC(PED); the welding process and the welders’ qualification are madeaccording to the EN 288 and EN 1418.Tests are made according to the EN3-6 and EN 3-3 which require foreach batch bursting and crush test etc.The cylinder is designed with a nominal pressure of 15 bars at 20°Cand with a pressure of 18 bar at 60°C (maximum allowable pressure

The cylinder is manufactured in 3 pieces with two domes (upperand lower) steel type DD12, one cylindrical shell, steel type DD12 andthe neck gear steel type S235J2G3 for the powder one and AISI 304for the foam cylinder.The cylinder is welded by means of a MIG machine with electroniccontrol of: speed, flow of the gas mixture, voltage and amperage.All these controlled parameters, guarantee quality and uniformity of thewelding.The quality of the steel is guaranteed from the material supplied fromfoundry, which is certified according ISO 9000; moreover the steel issupplied together with chemical and mechanical certificate mod. 3.1.BEN 10204.Each cylinder is marked according to directive 97/23/EC and with otherproduction data to grant its tracing.Each cylinder is tested with air up to 8 bars in order to verify if thereare leakages; moreover all the cylinders are hydraulic tested up to26-bar pressure for thirty second each.The cylinder is sand blasted with metallic sand and painted withepoxy-polyester powder Red colour Ral 3000 resistant to theatmospheric agents and to the ultraviolet rays.

Safety deviceThe loading cap has a passage hole of 90 mm made in brass completewith a control gauge in order to check the correct pressure when thenitrogen bottle is activated; a check valve Ø1/8” is mounted to be usedto release the pressure before maintenance, moreover the system isequipped with a safety valve Ø1/4” made in brass and spring instainless steel in order to avoid the corrosion and a perfect operation inevery environmental situation. The safety valve is set at 22 ± 2 bars onboth cylinders.

Cylinder propellant7,5 lt nitrogen cylinder complete with handweel valve and 27 ltnitrogen cylinder complete with VTI valve.Nitrogen bottle chrome molybdenum carbon steel is made in accordingto directive 84/525/CEE and directive 99/36/CEE . Before painting it is

cleaned with a deep sand blasting assuring a raw surface for a perfectand strong grasp of the polyurethane powder coating red RAL 3000u.v. repellent and resistant to scratches and knocks as well to corrosiveweather conditions.Complete with hand wheel valve made of brass supplied withprotection cap fixed on the trolley able to move separately the nitrogenbottle.

Pressure reducerThe pressure reducer is brass made with manometers , safety valveand pressure testing valve.The outlet is set at 15 bar.

Discharge apparatusSupply with two hoses 6,5 mt length, made in rubber with reinforcetextile braided wire; at the end there is a unique rotating ball-valve anda forming foam air aspirating allow nozzle.Thanks to this device the extinguishing agent is sprayed like a densewhich allows extinguishing the fire suddenly.

Machine gunsMachine gun for powder and foam complete with belt.Flow rate 2 Kg/sec, jet length 10 mt.

Extinguishing agentPowderDry chemical powder ABC is produced in according to EN 615 andISO 9000 quality control. The basic components of dry ABC powdersare ammonium phosphate and ammonium sulphate with specialsilicones additives enabling easy flow discharge and avoiding anycaking process. Dry powder is not corrosive, not abrasive, non toxic forhumans and animals.

FoamSealfire® super concentrate is the most powerful product registered bya.b.s. s.r.l. It is simply water with an additive AFFF based, speciallyformulated for best sealing effects.

INSTALLATION:Put the trolley fire extinguisher far from heat source.If installed outdoor we advise to use a fire extinguisher rain dust cover, toavoid the corrosion or deterioration of the metallic parts.After installation, pull out the safety pin (1) on the 27 lt nitrogen cylinder(Picture. 1).

WORKING PRESSURE:Wheeled extinguisher type Twin Agent with external Nitrogen cartridge has aworking pressure of 14 bar at 20°C.

INSTRUCTION OF USE:Use only in case of fire. Instruction of use1) Pull out the safety pin from the handweel valve (2) on the 7.5 nitrogen

2) Turn fully anticlockwise the handweel valve; The VTI valve will bepneumatically activated.

3) While the foam and powder cylinder are being pressurizing, unroll thehose and wear the special belt on the shoulders;

4) Hold the machine guns (3) (Picture 3).

WARNING1) Never use simultaneously the extinguishing agent2) Firstly use the foam extinguisher (yellow gun)

WARNING NOT BE USE ON LIVE ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT3) Finally use the powder extinguishing (red gun) safe for use on live

electrical equipment up to 1000 Volt at a distance of 1 mt.aim the jet at flame base.

FoamPowder

In case of fire do not approach too much; use the Twin Agent at a minimumdistance of 4 or 5 mt.

MAINTENANCE1) Be sure that the nitrogen valve is lock. Discharge the pressure on the

powder or foam cylinder from the check valve on the 4", cap see(Picture 4).

2) Be sure that there is no residual pressure inside the cylinder, after thatremove the nitrogen cylinder from the trolley.Verify the charge of the nitrogen cylinder, check the inside pressure(it is recommended use TEST GAUGE GLICERINE cod. 98160 notincluded) or with a scale.

Check the functionality of the pressure reducer 5 (Picture 5).Avoid that the regulator could be damaged. Don’t change calibration of theover-pressure valve.Keep gasket, seals and gauges in perfect conditions.In case of bad working of the pressure regulator (e.g. raising of outlet pressurewithout consumption, gauges and safety valve’s leakage) lock immediately theflow to the regulator switching off the cylinder valve.Check the integrity of the indicator; replace the pressure indicator that dose notwork.Reassembly all the parts.3) Empty completely the cylinders S1 and S2 (Picture. 6).

4) Remove the old fire extinguishant.

5) Check the welding and the material of the cylinders.6) Remove the cylinders with corrosion.7) Dismount the 4" 7 (Picture 7) and all its parts.8) Replace all the gaskets if necessary.9) Reassemble the 4" and all the parts, if necessary lubricate.10)Mount the safety valve 8 (Picture 7).11)Replace the safety valve if damaged.12)Check the integrity of the siphon tube, the connection, remove the dust

and the impurity.

13)Mount the nozzles 9 (Picture 8).14)Check the nozzle and the connection, the working lever and the

interception, replace the gasket and all the parts; remove the dustand the impurity.

15)Check the hoses 10 (Picture 8), remove the dust and the impurity.16)Remove the hose in case couplings are damaged or surface is cut or

extremely dried.

17)Recharge the trolley fire extinguisher with particularattention to the powder and the foam solution that must be original;Use only Sealfire® 3% minimum + water, and ABC powder 30% MAP.

18)Reassemble the nitrogen cylinder 11 (Picture 9) 7,5 lt nitrogen cylinder,12 (Picture10) 27 lt nitrogen cylinder check the integrity and theconnection.

19)After assembling the nitrogen cylinder, be sure that there is notleakages.

20)Reassembly all the parts previously unscrew, and keep tight all the hosecoupling. All the hoses with ogive couplings do not need gasket, whileplane couplings need copper gaskets.

21)Replace the protection and the external painting where damaged.22)Replace the missing and the unreadable label on the trolley.23)Replace the safety pin.24)Update the maintenance label.25)Check the clamp replace if necessary.26)Check the integrity of the trolley, check and lubricate the wheel hub, the

bearing check the wheel, replace if necessary27)Check the wheel hub and the wheel clamp, verify the movement.

TORQUE FORCE:The valve is screw down on the nitrogen cylinder with a torque force

between 13.2 e 15.2 kgm.The 4" cap is screw down on the powder/foam cylinder with a torque force

between 1.5 e 1.6 kgm.The torque force for the hose and the pipe is between 1.5 e 1.6 kgm.The torque force for the safety device is between 1.5 e 1.6 kgm.

DISPOSAL:The disposal of the extinguisher should follow the local regulation.The disposal of the extinguishing agent must be done according to the localregulations; a company who make the disposal of chemical products shoulddo it.

PERIODIC INSPECTIONS, SERVICING AND TESTS:The extinguisher must be tested and serviced according to the localregulations. The manufacture suggest the inspection yearly.

Maintenance and check:Maintenance must be done every 6 month, while the replacement of the fireextinguishant must be done every 18 month (for the foam) and 36 month(for the powder).The pressure test must be done every 10 year (for the nitrogen cylinder) and12 year (for the powder and foam cylinder).

according to the local regulations of the country where it is located.

GUARANTYThe trolley fire extinguisher is guaranteed for 24 month from the date of

supply.

The guarantee includes, repairing or replacement for production defects,cannot be send back to the factory free of charge, prior written agreement

with our offices.

The guarantee expires in case of bad maintenance made by not -authorized staff. It must be recharged only by staff authorized and certified

by a.b.s. s.r.l.

The use of not original spare parts is forbidden and itwill expire the validity of the guarantee.
