The DM Division oers equipment systems based
on passive magnetometer technology. Dr. Friedrich
Frster, the companys ounder, has developed the
Frster-probes (uxgates), which provide the basis
or a wide spectrum o applications such as
geomagnetic measurements or non-d estructive
testing o semi-fnished metallic products and
the resulting fnished components.
Diverse applications.
Precise results. From measuring magnetic elds todetermining coercive eld strength.
INSTITUT DR. FOERSTER has worked or over 60 years to develop magnetic feld
measurement techniques and derive processes or non-destructi ve material
testing. The DM division utilizes this unique expertise to produce highly-sensitive,
precise magnetometers.
This measuring equipment is specifcally developed or the measurement
o magnetic parameters such as ux density, specifc saturation, relative
permeability, and coercive feld strength . In addition to the development,
manuacture, and sale o equipment, the international ly active company
also oers comprehensive services such as training or uture users, service,
measurement equipment calibrati on, and contract measurement.
MAGNETOMAT
The PC-supported equipment system enables high-
resolution magnetic eld measurement or the precise
identication o the direction and magnitude o magnetic
elds. Three-axis sensors are available or the spatial
determination o magnetic elds and can be networked i
required.
MAGNETOSCOP
This easy-to-manage, portable device covers a wide
spectrum o measurement applications based on an
extensive range o probes. These include permeability
measurements or eebly magnetic materials.
KOERZIMAT
The KOERZIMAT delivers reliable data or coercive
eld strength or weight-specic saturation magnetization
on hard- or sot-magnetic components. Specically
congured device systems are available depending

Absolute magnetic neutralit y is oten a decisive actor in ensuring the usability and unction o materials,
components, and products. It is thereore essential to determine even the minimal presence o magnetic
particles. The MAGNETOM AT is a PC-supported system that measures even the smallest feld strengths
along up to 3 axes, enabling it to detect erritic inclusions or adhesions.
Applications in research and production.Wherever the metal manuacturing and processing
industry requires the highest non-magnetic purity or its
products, the MAGNETOMAT HotSpot technique or
magnetic residual eld measurement is the most precise
and reliable method. It is specically applied to test semi-
nished products (rods, pipes, sheet metals)
and components or magnetic anomalies (hot spots).
The digital 3-axis sensors enable applications ranging
rom laboratory use with a single sensor to complex eld
and component measurements with a large number
o networked sensors. Fluxgate probes transmit the
measurement results to a conventional PC, where theyare displayed by the MAGNETOMAT sotware, saved,
and documented according to job.
At home on oil rigs.
The petroleum and natural gas industries present
some o the most challenging application areas or eld
strength measurements. The exceptional precision
and reliability o the MAGNETOMAT make it standard
measuring equipment in these contexts. To avoid
declinations during directional drilling, the collars on the
drill pipe must exhibit only minimal magnetic properties.
The specication API Spec 7 stipulates exact limits.

Magnetic feld measurements are oten indispensable in research and development, as well as in series
production. The measurement o relativ e permeability is a requently used evaluation metho d, or example
in the selection o certain materials or when conducting saety checks on highly stressed components.
As a compact, robust, and portable mea suring instrument, the MAGNETOSCOP is well-equipped or
highly-sensitive detection in both areas.
