The National Day of Prayer is Thursday, May 3rd. Our nation and its leaders desperately need our prayers! We urge our churches and groups to participate in this time of prayer. There will be a program in front of the courthouse in Trenton at 12:15
pm, as well as one at Jamesport City Hall at 12:15 pm. Perhaps there are others planned that we’re not aware of. Let’s join together for this time of prayer for our na-tion.

May Days Celebration at SunnyviewMay Days Celebration at SunnyviewMay Days Celebration at SunnyviewMay Days Celebration at Sunnyview
First, our April Spring Celebration Prayer Luncheon was awesome and inspiring! Shelly Sims shared about her medical missions trip to Haiti over the last 13 years. Ladies if your group is looking for a Missions pro-ject, Shelly can use pillowcase dresses and simple cloth dolls. If you would like information on how to make them please contact me. Shelly will also be glad to take any unused medications that anyone would like to donate. A big thank you to Rosalea Lee Wright for leading our devotional and prayer for our missionaries since Doris Provorse was unable to be with us. Due to the time element Belinda Hogan will share about her work with the Shoebox Ministry at the May Days Celebration at Sunnyview.
Don’t forget ladies that our May 15th Celebration will be at Sunnyview Nursing Home in the East Conference room at 10:30 am. Belinda may also share the highlights of M Counter as well as about the Shoebox Ministry. Virginia Stephen-son our Northwest Regional WMU Consultant may also join us that day. After the program we’ll have a sack lunch and a time of fellowship. Our June 19th Summer Celebration will be held at FBC Trenton in the fellowship hall at 10:30 am. Please bring a towel for a prayer rug and a scarf to be used as a head covering and be prepared at one point to remove your shoes. We will have women’s prayer tea for Muslim women. After the devotional we will have a covered dish luncheon, let’s have a sandwich and salad luncheon. Remember there will be no July or August meetings. We will resume our monthly programs on September 11th, a week early due to the WMU/Women’s Ministry training at Grand Oaks on Thursday, September 20th. More details about the September program to follow. Ladies, Medicine Valley Community Ministry can still used canned vegetables, canned fruit and cereals.

It's May—the month we recognize our mothers with a special day. In the month of May we also remember our loved ones and soldiers who have died with a special day. This month 20 plus of us will be going to a Canada Indian Reservation on a mission trip. Special prayer meetings have also been scheduled to pray for the upcoming "Youth Camp" at Grand Oaks on June 4-8. The prayer meetings will be held here at the Mission Center on May 15th, 22nd, and 29th at 7:00 pm with Jim Whitley leading. (Everyone, who has a heart for young people, is urged to come.)
Proverbs 31:10-31 shares with us some important characteristics of a Godly mother. These in-clude: (1) She is a valuable partner—verses. 10-12, 23. (2) She is a diligent provider—verses. 13-15, 21-22,27. (3) She is a wise producer—verses. 16-19, 24. (4) She is a generous person—verse. 20. (5) She is worthy of praise—verses. 28-31.
Hebrews 11 as well as many other Scriptures reminds us to remember those who have gone on into eternity before us—especially those of our heavenly family, those of our earthly family, friends and those who have fought for the freedoms we have. Let us learn from those and be thankful for them.
Pray for those going on the Canada Mission Trip (May 23-31) that we may be used of our Lord to bring His healing and salvation to native people who are hurting and are in need of deliverance (even as we are) from the enemies: Satan, demons, the flesh, the world, sin and death. Pray that we will be used to help start a thriving church on this reservation that has no church as of now.
Thank you for your prayers and active support. Keep praying for at least 3,000 people to be born again in our associa-tional area by the end of this year!
For His Glory, E.J. Barnes

Edinburg– We had our annual Joint Good Friday Services with Shelburne Baptist and Dockery Chapel which was well attended with fantastic special music from each church and the message was brought by Bro. Stan.
We had our annual Easter Breakfast on Saturday following Good Friday with great food prepared by the men of our Church with 52 in attendance.
We had 148 in our Resurrection Sunday services with a good spirit followed by an Easter egg hunt for the kids prepared by three ladies of our church.
We have a young man who has given his life to the Gospel Ministry and has shared in our pulpit and I would highly rec-ommend him if you need to have your pulpit filled any time. Just contact me and I will get you in touch with him. My phone number is 654-1186.
March 21-24 of Spring Break, a team of 12, 9 students and 3 adults, conducted a 3 day DNOW-Part 2 “Uncooler” at Albia Road Baptist church, Ottumwa, IA. Joshua Ishmael preached the first worship service with 44 in attendance. Stephen Williamson was the preacher for the next 2 nights with 37 the second night and 43 the third night. Thursday morning our students connected with the director of Campus Crusades, Paul Barnes.
For 3 hours our team walked the campus passing out tickets with one word, “Why?". This generated enough curiosity among the Indian Hills Community College students, that Paul was able to talk to many about his ministry. Five of these IHCC students learned for the first time that there was a Campus Crusades ministry on campus. Paul shared with them the times the club meets on campus. We also gave away pocket Johns to interested students. One of the most valuable results of the 3 days was that 9 NCMC students were nudged by God out of their comfort zones, and stretched to serve Him in ways they never thought they could. For the very first time, some taught a Bible lesson, another student prayed publically, another shared a gospel tract, another used her sign-language skills to sign Praise songs, another prayed with and for students when they were asked by the Junior Hi and HS kids. All 9 saw God answer prayer within 24 hours of asking Him to move on the hearts of a set of unsaved parents. As a group they prayed Thursday night for the parents, and Friday they saw those same parents attend church for the very first time.
Also in March, the carpets were cleaned and the Shelburne men's group upgraded the basement kitchen sink and faucet. Thank you trustees for bringing about these blessings. Another prayer answer is that God has provided 2 vans plus trailers for our Canada Trip. HBA has given permission for us to use their van/trailer, and Ravanna Baptist Church has graciously given us permission to use their van. Pray now that God will pro-vide a trailer hitch for the Ravanna van to allow us to pull the second trailer we will need for the trip.
We now have 24 team members for the Canada trip to Shoal Lake #40. The trip is May 23-June 1, and there are several details that God is pulling together. Pray and ask God if He wants you to sponsor a student finan-cially who is taking time away from summer jobs to serve Him and share Jesus with the Indians of Shoal Lake. There are 4 of the 24 who are still working hard to acquire the needed funds. Pray for the food supplies needed for 9 days for not only the team but also for the people on the reserve that God allows us to share with. Throughout these days we are seeking to be like the Acts first church, where daily believers fellow-shipped and shared meals with each other. Pray for the team that we will be obedient when He gives us op-portunities to share, and pray for the hearts of the Indian people that they will be ready to hear about the HOPE that only God can give.
Other prayer answers are that we now have 3 students registered to serve as summer missionaries with us. For the first time all three students are international students, one from Ghana, Nigeria, and Philippines. If you would like your church to experience hearing about Christian worship and culture in other countries contact me quickly so that I can schedule the best time for your church and these students to share with you.
Some other blessings that have happened: Christina has been having impromptu Bible studies on Thursday mornings at the Cross Hall coffee shop. One of our students received Jesus as his personal Savior as a result of our Tuesday 9 pm worship services on campus, and the transformation is unbelievable. Thank you, Aaron Stark, for sacrificially coming every Tuesday night at 9 pm to share God's Word with our students.
He is Worthy to Receive the Rewards of HIS Sacrifice.

Gallatin- Join us on Sunday evening, June 3rd at 6:00 pm to hear Brent Vernon in concert. Brent is a singer, songwriter, ventriloquist, author and illustrator.
Medicine Valley- This has been an extremely satisfying week (April 16-20) for our work in the Humphreys community. We had eighteen present at our Tuesday night meeting. This included four adults, three teenagers and eleven children. A gospel presentation video was shown and the chil-dren then participated in a delayed Easter Egg Hunt.
Admittedly, mostly children, and in part due to the egg hunt, this was nevertheless the largest turnout in some time.
On Thursday, April 19, we had our first food distribution from the Community Building in Humphreys. Food was distrib-uted there to 101 residents in 26 households.
We also, earlier in the same day, distributed to 108 individuals in 37 households from the food pantry in Newtown, addi-tional boxes were delivered to another 48 individuals in 10 households, for a total of 257 people in 73 households receiv-ing assistance.
There were 7 volunteer workers assisting at Newtown and 12 volunteers assisting at Humphreys. In addition to enabling us to serve more people we expect this secondary distribution center to help our ministry gain approval as a unifying in-fluence in the community.
Some of those to whom we have ministered at Newtown through the Celebrate Recovery activities have moved away from this area. However, there are others who need to become involved.
The prayer support of caring people is critical in fulfilling our desire to see people overcome addictions to drugs or alco-hol and/or to conquer other behavior problems.
Excellent turnout for Easter Sunday services at Newtown included 38 for the breakfast and 42 for the special Easter ser-vices.
Additional financial support is needed to enable us to minister effectively to a continually enlarging number of people. Most needed are additional funding for the basic budgetary needs, funds for teaching material in Celebrate Recovery, and basic food items for the food pantry. Most needed items are canned corn, peas, green beans and tomatoes.
As God continues to bless our ministry, and to provide for our every need, we are grateful for those churches and indi-viduals through whom His help is extended.
May God continue to bless you all as you continue in support of this “Mission in Your Own Backyard”.
Princeton- Starting May 2 and following for 10 weeks on Wednesday evening from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M., we will be having Video-driven program by Dave Ramsey of “Get On The Road To Financial Peace” from the Financial Peace Uni-versity. Cost will be $79.00 per couple/family unless 15 sign up, then, cost will be $69.00.
National Day of Prayer will be May 3. Our Youth will be going to Branson on May 5 & 6 for a concert. Men will be serv-ing breakfast for Mother's Day honoring Mother's of our church on Saturday, May 12 at 8:00 am
Salem- We had a very nice Easter. The weather was beautiful, the men fixed a very nice breakfast, the kids had fun on the egg hunt. And we had a large crowd. Bro. Tim gave a very meaningful message and we had communion. It was just a wonderful time in the house of the Lord, for the most meaningful day in a Christians life.
On May 6th a reception will be held, for Amanda Steely, (Bro. Tim and Cyndy's daughter) at the First Baptist Church in Chillicothe, from 3-5 p.m.
May 13th at 9 am, the men of the church will serve breakfast to the Mothers, in honor of their day.
Trenton First– April 15th was Awana Sunday. Our children had the morning worship service with leading the congre-gation in the pledges to the flags, reciting scripture and singing. April 18th was the last day with a pizza party and the store.
April 27th our senior adults will have a carry-in dinner at noon. After lunch Dr. Frank Fain for the Baptist Home will pre-sent a program called “Laughing your way through life”! This program has been a huge success. All senior adults were invited to attend.

Since 1945 Grand Oaks has been a place to “win
the lost, disciple the saved and train believers for
Christian service.” That is still our goal today as
we provide a facility for our member Associa-
tions to conduct summer camps and other activi-
ties. Grand Oaks is supported solely through user
fees and donations from individuals, churches
and Associations. Grand Oaks does NOT receive
funds from Cooperative Program giving.
The facility is open year round and is a great
place for group retreats as well as family events.
We encourage each of our churches to consider
scheduling an event. Grand Oaks provides a
